After the AWARE drama, many christians here seems to feel that they should not be vocal in politics and leave it to the secular folks but did not NT cited'Occupy till I return" .
Christians should be more active in politics to stem the rising tide of atheism in our society resulting in abortion and relationships that bear no fruits
Even in america they are being attacked.
umm , paiseh to tell you - now rising rate of christians have premarital sex. some got pregnant.
So how???
No vision and morality how long can this go on?I blame this on liberalism and modernism of the church

Frankly, tis cannot blame the church, it is up to the each individual how they want to lead their life.
God's laws or self laws. the church need to decide on this sooner or later .and christians need to choose too

Stem the rising tide of atheism? How? Reinstating the inquistion? Lets have drawing and quartering reintroduced as well.
The world has seen the dark ages when the church was in power, a society of anarchy with ridiculous laws and "inquisitors" running around. The church is in no position to judge the modern world, it had it chance, and it failed
Personal view, there is nothing wrong with Christians being in politics. For example, Chiam See Tong is a Christian.
However, taking up politics just to be "anti-atheism" in itself is a silly idea. Ideally of course and in principle, people should not be taking up politics just to further the agenda of any one association or group. Neither should it just be for the sake of opposing someone or a group.
It boils down to what is your motivation as a politician or political party.
Not that I take you seriously Catknight, but if that was your political platform, I would not vote for you or your party.
Why Christians cannot be in politics?
Simply because they will eventually disciminate against non-believers when the whole nation is in their control (similarly for other religions and non-religious too) even if they give great and nice speechs about how they protect the rights of every citizens...simply because they believe they are right.
Take Texas for an example, it's stated in their consitution that no one will be subjected to a religious test to hold any office or be excluded provided he acknowlege the existence of a Supreme Being. And this kind of discimination doesn't only exist in Texas but a handful of American states.
Abortion and relationships that bear no fruits aren't things that pop out of nowhere with Atheism...they already exist for decades...
There is evidence to suggest that, historically, pregnancies were terminated through a number of methods, including the administration of abortifacient herbs, the use of sharpened implements, the application of abdominal pressure, and other techniques.
Those who believe Atheism caused abortion and any other "nasty" things that they love to associate with Atheism so much are far from any truth they claim to be speaking and I'm not even Atheist.
Issues quite misplaced here..are we talking about Christians in politics or Christians pushing their own agenda via takeover of civic organisation..
Examples dont seems to match proposition...

Think you must consider that the one posting is Catknight.
Based on his opening statement, what he is "proposing" (obviously not as a serious suggestion) is the later.
Not the point
Point is examples dont match proposition

As is the case with Catknight very often.
Christians can be politicians... but just don't do unsecular decisions. I do not understand why atheism is associated with abortion or relationships that bear no fruit. French, Italy or British is supposedly more Christian than Singapore yet they seems to have a bigger problem with these issues.
I believe the world will be a safer place with more christians in politics not less
I have no issue with my MP going to church.
It becomes a problem when he wants policies made based on the teachings of the Bible.

Then the christians should keep their religious views to themselves, we don't want another crusade
Im don't believe in christians enforcing their religous laws, it doesn't make sense

If you look at Christians in politics, they tend to enforce their religious laws either because they're strict Christians and/or to win the most votes in a Christian dominated society. Just look at American elections...
south korea is a very good example. newspaper reported that buddhists in s. korea protested against the government ,whose president is a christian, because the government drew a map specially to show the locations of churches. if i remembered correctly, the maps are available at the public transports location to convenience the christians.
this is obviously favourtism towards the christians. the president later apologised. but of course, the president is also very kind as he donates a certain amount of his monthly pay to the poor. however, as a president of a country, he has to take into consideration of his people regardless of religion.
I'm worried that the right wing christians in America will push us to WWIII.One reason Ieft the church cause there;s no spirtuality left, it's all about money and politics in a subtle way
