They were simply trying to get u understand more easily hence saying their language bahasa which is not.
Bahasa in Indonesian means literally language. Indonesian language would then be bahasa Indonesia while Italian would be bahasa Itali or Mandarin would be bahasa Mandarin or English would be bahasa Inggris. We never ever call our national langugage simply bahasa as that would mean as simply language which makes no sense whatsoever. The name of the language is Indonesia or Indonesian in English and not bahasa. -

No one cares how a dog asses himself or anybody else. No one cares a dog's opinion since it's never theirs to begin with.
