but they dont support they religion.
Originally posted by Sgforum King:no, i did not mention about forcing people to become christians. but to believe there is a god. and i stated that they do not want to. i have a friend in Africa whose parents are missionaries. he tells me all these stuff that his parents and also other missionaries were doing. it made him not want to be a christian anymore. and yes its a forcing action, indirectly though as these missionaries know they need food so they exchange food for them to believe.
/sarcasm on
And no, showing-off is not crazy.
i dont know why you said i did not mention when you clearly typed that in your previous posts.
and also, maybe u dont know bragging gets irritating at times. even when people does not want to hear about it cause they do not believe in it, they still keep on bragging about it. like 1 time there was 2 christians going around blocks to talk about christianity. So, they walked to my doorstep and the 1st thing he said was " do u know jesus died for your sins"? before i could answer he started talking crap and finally, he said "come to our church we give refreshments" and of course i shouted at him " YOUZ TRZYING TO CONVERTZ WITH FREEZBIEZ?"
excuse me for misunderstanding, you seem to imply that you do not wish to get anything to drink while some1 is trying to tell you the love of god, you are just ignorant on the fact that you do not want to hear anything of a religion you have fled from due to not being able to fulling understand any part of it. i dont like your terms here cus your insulting us in a way and the worst thing is that you do not understand at all what you have done wrong.
personally, if i went to some1's house, i will bring a bottle of wine or some present to give to the host, does it mean im trying to convert the host into a christian? bringing stuff while preaching to you the love of god doesnt nessasarily meant a bad thing, its just a kind gesture, do you live in a society where you expect each person who goes to your house to slap you in the face and kick you in the grion? no kind people in your neighbourhood at all?
i challenge you to use your logic and type skillfully, do not use terms which you know your are texturely mocking another religion, if you are still ignorant into listening to this piece of advice, i suggest you dont post anything on this forum, because your just trying to add post counts instead of asking a question because it has continually been spoken about in your mind.
sgforum king, can you please follow the example of laffin123, he uses no insulting words but his words all explain his understanding way better than you do rite now...

no, you didnt get it. i only took that as another example of 1 of the hundreds i had encountered with. i only used that as an example in a different context. There is a difference between a house and extremely poor african village. in a poor village they will do whatever it takes to not starve to death

actually, it does not matter..... converting the world is not the same as ministering to the world.
recently, Paya Lebar Methodist Church organised a job fair for the unemployed. This event was for all faith and philosophies.... it's purpose is NOT to convert.

What perspective? Some human beings using their own money to go to a remote place to help many others who needed help......
Are these good or bad people??
What are the "brain-washed teachings" you are refering to? As I said, if you understand the Christian faith, you will know that it is all about faith, hope and love and nothing is greater than love. If you don't understand, then you keep barking at the wrong things with mis-guided quotes...and theory.
Yes, it is true that when one truely believed in God and follow His way, one will go to heaven after they die. The answer is YES.
ppl become christians cause they have no one to turn to ,they turn tis "god"....

then all i could say that he is just a selfish, jealous god. if i were still a christian and believe in this crap i would have converted to satanism. but no, i think that they are all fantasy and that if there is a REAL GOD i would go to heaven if i lead a good legacy.
And missionaries only willingly spend money to spread their beliefs not to help them. i know, cause i got a friend whose family are missionaries in Africa.

If you refused to see the point, then there is nothing I can help.
These people spend their time and money (and even give their whole life) to help those who needed help....yet, you call them crap and satanism....
They are missionaries because they felt the calling of God to do so and went to help.....maybe I can quote you an example of Mother Teresa.....she went to India.
Everyone that needs help will be given help.... yet you says "a selfish, jealous god". You refused to see or acknowledge the truth but instead harp on the fact that they are spreading their beliefs....
and there is nothing wrong when their beliefs is to help the poor and needy and they put their beliefs into practice.
In the process, some of those whom received help will be touched by this love and will start to share the same beliefs....to help someone else now that they have been helped.
You judge based on 1 family you know in Africa......and on what they tell you.....It will be better to go and see for yourself.
So Good or Bad people?
Got war le.

So Good or Bad people?
well, it looks like u did not read my post probably.
1st, i did not call christianity, satanism. i only stated that if 1 needs to believe in God and follow God to go to heaven, then its no better than worshipping satan. And if u lead a good legacy in life u will not go to heaven, is that a jealous God or a Benevolent God?
2nd, i have stated many times that their main objective is not to help the poor, but to spread their religion by luring them into churches with food.
3rd, i did not judge it based on 1 family, it is based on the many missionaries that they have worked with and they all know that they do not want to listen but its the only way to.

This is all your opinions. Who are you to judge God ?

I atheist i dont believe in God, hence i judge ur religion.

So, you did not call Christianity satanism but only "if i were still a christian and believe in this crap i would have converted to satanism" Ok, I accept.
When did I said that "if u lead a good legacy in life u will not go to heaven" ? And what is a good legacy? Based on whose standard?
You can doubt the sincerity of anyone helping......but it will not change the facts that many have benefitted from the help extended. If you doubts these people (missionaries), what are you doing about it? I mean, what are you doing to help those straving and suffering people and "save" them from those missionaries?
You are not judging based on one family but "based on the many missionaries that they have worked with" which I read as meaning that family....or perhaps you can explain who are they....
Try listening to another family....it may help you.
Still, need to ask you - people who give up their life, comfort, time and money to travel to a remote Africa village to help the straving because their beliefs teaches them that this is the right thing to do....
Good or Bad people?
And if the beliefs teaches you to love your neighbour, what is wrong in sharing that beliefs and teaching those they help to love and help someone else in return .... ?
Good or Bad ?

its common sense to love your neighbour unless u are looking for a fight. FYI, this friend i know of travels around with his family to poor villages and finds his time to email me about these stuff. They work with different missionaries group that are stationed in Africa. And if i were to listen to another family, of course they would have denied everything because it will make people lose faith in their religion.
And yes helping people is good but what are their main objectives? To make them believe in what they believe. They giv them food and in return they want them to believe in God.

Which atheist thinks that he is good enough to judge God ?

Why would they or i even want to judge God if i dont believe there is 1
Then keep your comments to yourself or you will invite trouble.

See, come back to square one. You based everything you hear from 1 family only. Yet, most of the others will tell you otherwise because "they would have denied everything because it will make people lose faith in their religion." ?
More like they (the other families other than the one you contact with) will be proof that what 1 family tells you may not be the actual situation and thus, you are just in self denial....and refuse to hear the truth.
You said it is common sense to love your neighbour but look around and you see many don't.......And so what is so wrong to share this "common sense" beliefs with others?
And to put what you preach into practice by actually extending the help.....
So I take it that you agree that all those missionaries are good people since they have the common sense to love their neighbour and not just by saying but by taking actions.
Unless they tell the straving : " Believed in God or I won't give you food", your claimed that "They giv them food and in return they want them to believe in God." hold no truth.

How can you be sure that your choice is the best for humanity ?

U nv think. do u think a christian would admit that what his or her purpose was after becoming a christian. Yes, there are some with initial purposes and thats to feed the poor, well, after that they would have gone into another purpose and thats to lure them into a believe that they do not want to. My friend has become a non-christian already, so, he would tell me everything he knew. his parents had already worked with almost all the missionaries stationed in Africa. He said he took a photo of what the pastor did when he knew 1 of them did not want to attend church. i will post a photo sometime this week since he is not able to use the com everyday.
Originally posted by ƒlame:How can you be sure that your choice is the best for humanity ?
I nv say my choice is the best or anything. i would rather think that this missionary thing is ridiculous
another thing, they dont say " believe in god or i dont give u food" they just dont give them food if they dont go to their church and listen to them.
