your belief has nothing to do with me. I just want to see whats behind those beliefs.

behind those beliefs are lies and fake prophecies.

i was a christian, does that count? i found out that whenever a christian overcomes something, they thank God. Why? Simply cause they are brain-washed by their religion
Religion salvations are just like a sure win lottery ticket with the only catch - you can only cash it personally after you die.
i think having these beliefs and values (jesus loves me, i am special etc) give people a certain level of comfort
people like having that comfort
I also christian for 6-7 years
in the end ..got nothing le
but donated moines to church
then pastor stay in orchard road

so who shud dey thank? themselves? who gave them the chance of actually achieving something? i think people who dont thank some1 other den themselves are brainwashed by their culture and society into thinking that they themselves have all credit to wud dey do in life. i cant blame dem, our society is like dis, materialistic gains are considered the most important dis days.
you talked about how its all lies and fake phophercies, but wud prove do you have?
you can reply me with wud prove i have that it not lies, but it doesn't make the situation change, you still cant prove whether or not it is a lie or not, only god knows..
so...my main point is...please keep those comments to yourself, and wen i mean those comments, i meant those exact posts, nothing more, nothing less.
thanks for listening. =]

what you have seen is a group of pastors who have long strayed from the true calling of christ, christians are human too, and like normal people, we do wrong things as well, it doesnt matter who or what position the christian is in(may it be a pastor or a normal person or even parents), we will always have the time where we fall into sin and do wrong things, it doesnt mean that, when you accept christ and become a christian that doesnt mean you will never ever sin in your life, that is just a very common misunderstanding in non-believers.for normal churches who do not have pastors who have gone astray, we merely collect donation money (we call it ties and offerings, and it isnt even compulsory that you have to put any money, you can just pass on the offering bag to your neighbor) count it, write down the exact amount of money, which is normally counted by several groups of the christian team, we then put the money in a specific place, normmaly a safe deposit bank (which is also done by several people who have to sign their names to signify that they seen the exact amount of money put into the safe deposit bank).2nd: sgforum kingOriginally posted by Sgforum Kingbehind those beliefs are lies and fake prophecies.i was a christian, does that count? i found out that whenever a christian overcomes something, they thank God. what do u have to say for Christian "missionaries" going to Africa to "help" the poor people? Yes, they use their money, but they are using the money to build a church there and make them go to the church if not they dont get food. So, are they good people or bad people?
my church has missions at one of the smaller islands at Batam/Bintang area, goes there almost every weekend with members who are medically trained, supports a minority tribe in the hills of Thailand, builds a church in a rural village in south China....
are these good or bad people.

What's wrong when they use their money to build a Church in the poor village and use that to take care of the poor...giving them food, giving them education, medical etc....with their own money (on a long term basis and not a one off donation - thus the need of a place - Church).......beside telling them about the Christian faith and in order to get help, being a Christian is NOT a requirement....all (Christians and non-Christians) are treated equally.
So are they good or bad people?

so u dont get it? they go to the church only for food. otherwise, they dont go to the church. its not their belief and its like forcing them to go if not they will starve to death.

maybe for christians they never realise what their real objective is. Its wrong in the 1st place that they built a church already. Its like sticking a sharp knife at your throat and asking u to go to the church and listen to the pastor or u will starve to death.

Actually, you don't understand.....that God loves these starving people and is sending His messengers (Christians) to reach out to these people to feed them....it dosen't matter if they believed Him or not. This is really spreading the Gospel and what Jesus means by loving your neighbour.
Some of these people will be converted later because they felt and know God loves them...and will in turn reach out to help more people....

from ur perspective he is benevolent. well, if there is a God, i'd say he is a jealous 1 as he just want more people to believe him and its followers are brain-washed by its teachings. And is it true that believeing in God will allow 1 to go to heaven aft death? just answer yes or no

ok tell me this, how is helping spiritually(mentally) and physically(food) needy people in africa a bad thing at all?
you seen videos and tv programs of how bad the situation is in some parts of these countries, people living a life of starvation and mental torture, dont they need any comfort mentally rather than just filling their stomach full continuously?
if you think that just filling their stomachs like their just animals is what we as privileged and blessed humans should do then i would have no more words to say...
on a side note, you mentioned that the church forces people to become christians, on what basis are you making this? have you interviewed people in africa to state your claim? are you basing your claim on the fact that you feel that its like a forcing action? if you just feel something due to personal logic and common sense, what you have said all drops down to self-confidence, thinking that you yourself know everything, every action's reasoning, every thinking process...

by spirtually u would mean letting them believe in God or listen to their pastor praising God even when they do not want to.like i said, its like forcing someone to believe something they do not want to but have to. i rest my case

another question, how is saying that i love god and praising god in front of strangers a wrong and crazy thing to do? as a christian, we should at least try our best to tell how much we love our god, to some people(like you), this is a dreaded thing to do and we shouldnt do it, but this is just but 1 way of allowing people to know of christ.

no, i did not mention about forcing people to become christians. but to believe there is a god. and i stated that they do not want to. i have a friend in Africa whose parents are missionaries. he tells me all these stuff that his parents and also other missionaries were doing. it made him not want to be a christian anymore. and yes its a forcing action, indirectly though as these missionaries know they need food so they exchange food for them to believe.
/sarcasm on
And no, showing-off is not crazy.
and also, maybe u dont know bragging gets irritating at times. even when people does not want to hear about it cause they do not believe in it, they still keep on bragging about it. like 1 time there was 2 christians going around blocks to talk about christianity. So, they walked to my doorstep and the 1st thing he said was " do u know jesus died for your sins"? before i could answer he started talking crap and finally, he said "come to our church we give refreshments" and of course i shouted at him " YOUZ TRZYING TO CONVERTZ WITH FREEZBIEZ?"
and of course a funny incident from my friend, he said the missionaries gave them free bible and at times when they are hungry, they eat the pages of the bible. what does this show?

it shows that for any organisation, there are the good guys and there are the bad guys.

actually that is a common misconception... many of such folks ended becoming missionaries too, and many more continue to support the cause that saved them.
beyond that... if you really want to help somebody, what the receiver thinks may not be that important.

No. it shows that they do not believe what u want them to believe in.
