Of course, this is the most important message:"Fuck you, God!!"
Sometimes I have to agree that Christians tend to put it easy to those who are facing challenges or struggling with something by just saying to thank God. It's easier for anyone to say to thank God. Yet, given such positive outlook, it does give a booster, at least emotionally to make us stronger to face the struggles.
I don't think the Christians meant it that simply either but I am sure, all believers regardless what religion they belong to have their own way to handle it. It is good to have a focus, especially towards God to those who believe in the existence.
However, to say that Christianity is a self-deception is too strong a charge but rather, for anyone who believes in God and finds comfort through the belief it is wonderful. Rather than focusing on the negatives in life (I think we all often do that), to have some positives is good.
If we look at any beliefs and trace them back to their roots, there will be some deviation. Yet, there will also be some progression. Each doctrine and belief will have to find how it fits into each generation an time. Remove the believers and look purely into the doctrine of each belief and learn to good from each. Neither should we be quick to judge that a belief is a religion or a deception.
I think as Christians or whatever we believe or don't believe in, we have a responsibility to help others if we can and not merely just give words of advice. Yet, perhaps thanking God is just a start.
Yet if we say that we don't have any beliefs, it is a belief in itself. We still have to believe in something to guide us otherwise there is no right or wrong in life and that means to kill someone can be argued as right since it is based on your belief not by religion or the law.
As nature has laws, there will always be laws (rules, doctrine) governing us one way or another. Yet sometimes we need to defy the laws to learn something new like know we cannot remove gravity to make us fly, we create planes to defy it for us to fly.
I believe in the existence of a supernatural being.
I believe not blindly believing though there is a level a faith in it and to question in order to understand what I am believing.
I am a Christian and believe who Jesus says He is.
I believe that anyone is free to talk about Him even if they do not believe in Him and to discuss about God and His existence.
Sometimes, even Christians need to learn from others.
How about when Christians run amok, like miracles&prophecies?

And they are without all manner at all. To be polite to these kind of people is to offer courtesy to dogs.
nothing wrong with offering courtesy to dogs...dogs are men's best friend..
