Being A Christian or if you believe in any religion is very simple. Dont understand why so many people here trying to make it sound so complicated. With all the profound words lol..... What ever u do, whatever religion you are in. Ultimately, you will need to face it. even without a religion, there is still something out there. So when the time is up, everyone still have to face it. At least I know I can face it without any fear. :) May God Bless you all! BTW I am not a hard core christian. But I do greatly fear the LORD my GOD. Not because He is fearful, but because He had gave me so much love and bless me even when i rejected Him and cast Him out of my life, He never leave me and continue to be with me. To all the Christian out there, dont let people make u angry or anything that will upset you. Cause the rewards is in heaven, just listen what people say, all the negative thingy just bypass. God is Great. Amen.
hmm...not eating pork and such..aint those meant for the exodus period only??when hygiene was poor but highly important to a large number of moving people?
sabbath..JC was accused of working on sabbath by the darn pharisees when he and his disciples were gathering bushels of wheat to eat...JC rebuked them that God would have done the same...as also in the case when he healed someone on sabbath..lastly..didnt JC focused on telling his disciples to commemorate instead his passing with the bread and wine thingy?he did not mentioned keeping the sabbath anymore..since JC was the fufilment of the prophecy in the older texts..doesnt it means that he had accomplished what God's standards was for humans?

If you refer to the original commandment in Vayikra (Leviticus) 11, Yahweh says this that we are not to make ourselves detestable with eating any of the foods considered by Him as unclean.
In Vayikra 11:46-47 “’ Such, then, is the law concerning animals, flying creatures, all living creatures that move about in the water, and all creatures that swarm on the ground. Its purpose is to distinguish between unclean and the clean, and between the creatures that may be eaten and those that may not be eaten’”
If you also read in B’midbar (Numbers) 15:15 which was originally mentioned in Vayikra 24:22, B’midbar 15:15 says : For this community there will be the same law for you as for the foreigner living with you; this is a permanent regulation through all your generations; the foreigner is to be treated the same way before Adonai as yourselves. The same Torah and standard of judgement will apply to both you and the foreigner living with you.
This prohibition on food that is edible also addresses, seafood, so no prawns, no crabs, no squid, no sharks fin… as long as it does not have fins and scales, it is unclean for us to eat.
This commandment is given so that we are to be Holy as Yahweh is Holy. We are to do this to set ourselves apart.
Yeshua Himself said:
Matthew
5:18
For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or
one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled.
John
15:10
If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have
kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.
Romans
7:12
Therefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy and just and good.
1
John 2:4
He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a
liar, and the truth is not in him.
Revelation
22:14
Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right
to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
By the same token, this applies to keeping of Shabbat as well. We clearly know that it is stated in Exodus 20:8
8 “ Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days you shall labor and do all your work, 10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. 11 For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
So likewise, we are to keep the commandments of Yahweh. Yeshua said that till heaven and earth pass away, no one jot or tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled. So all is not fulfilled and the law is still with us. We are to observe Torah as our instructions for living the life that we are called, this is our guideline, this is our standard.
When Yeshua was speaking about Shabbat to the Pharisees, He was correcting them in their application of Torah, on Shabbat one should not do work, as evidenced by the Tenakh, which gives countless examples of people to be put to death if they profane Shabbat. But on Shabbat is it ok to do good, it is ok to help, it is ok to heal… It has never been done away with.
Yeshua is the fulfillment of the Torah, not the abolishment of Torah. So Torah still stands today.
Hope this clarifies some things for you... domon... : )

thanks alot bro brey..as for the food part..i remember reading a part where this dude was hungry and Jehovah/Yahweh had said to him to kill and eat..and he said no..even to the seafood..as like God said..its unclean..but God told him its ok due to some other reasons..cant really remember it..but i cant remember where it is..
as for JC saying till heavn and earth pass away..not a single bit will pass frm the law..in revelation, we see that there will be new heavens and new earth..meaning new form of government instead of this current wicked system of things..
i wont say he abolish the torah..he does fufils it..torah was originally made so if any imperfect man can keep all of it..he shall prove to be sinless...but no man can do it due to inherited sin..only when JC came..did this change...

I think you are referring to Kefa (Peter) and his dream? It is actually in the book of acts chapter 10... here is an exerpt
24 And the following day they entered Caesarea. Now Cornelius was waiting
for them, and had called together his relatives and close friends. 25 As Peter was coming in, Cornelius met him and fell down at his feet and worshiped him. 26 But Peter lifted him up, saying, “Stand up; I myself am also a man.” 27 And as he talked with him, he went in and found many who had come together. 28 Then he said to them, “You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to
keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me
that I should not call any man common or unclean. 29 Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?”
30 So Cornelius said, “Four days ago I was fasting until this hour; and at the ninth hour[c] I prayed in my house, and behold, a man stood before me in bright clothing, 31 and said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard, and your alms are remembered in the sight of God. 32 Send therefore to Joppa and call Simon here, whose surname is Peter. He is lodging in the house of Simon, a tanner, by the sea.[d] When he comes, he will speak to you.’ 33 So I sent to you immediately, and you have done well to come. Now
therefore, we are all present before God, to hear all the things
commanded you by God.”
34 Then Peter opened his mouth and said: “In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. 35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and works righteousness is accepted by Him. 36 The word which God sent to the children of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ—He is Lord of all— 37 that word you know, which was proclaimed throughout all Judea, and began from Galilee after the baptism which John preached: 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power,
who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the
devil, for God was with Him. 39 And we are witnesses of all things which He did both in the land of the Jews and in Jerusalem, whom they[e] killed by hanging on a tree. 40 Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, 41 not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. 42 And He commanded us to preach to the people, and to testify that it is He who was ordained by God to be Judge of the living and the dead. 43 To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

9 The next day, as they went on their journey and drew near the city,
Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour. 10 Then he became very hungry and wanted to eat; but while they made ready, he fell into a trance 11 and saw heaven opened and an object like a great sheet bound at the four corners, descending to him and let down to the earth. 12 In it were all kinds of four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air. 13 And a voice came to him, “Rise, Peter; kill and eat.”
14 But Peter said, “Not so, Lord! For I have never eaten anything common or unclean.”
15 And a voice spoke to him again the second time, “What God has cleansed you must not call common.” 16 This was done three times. And the object was taken up into heaven again.
