from what i know.. christianity wants you to spread their faith...
does not the bible tells you to spread the words of god...
if you spread the word of christian god.. then you must necessarily say that this other god you have is false..
in singapore... the government rules for religion game is that we cannot coerce people to take up your religion, at least not in forceful way...
so much contradictions in the religion world... how i wish i can wake up and there are no more talks of religion anymore... for god sake.. please make this day come..
The bible also say that Noah managed to find every type of land animals you see in the world today and pack them into a ship, and manage to feed them for 49 days. Not to mention how all those animals can continue to live off the flooded barren land after that...

as i say in another topic, everybody always do things they like regardless of what others 'likes'. as shown in this couple evangelists. there are always the right way to do things and the wrong way.
the world follows their stardards. christians, as in the good faithful ones, follow God's holy standards. which is really high. like committing adultery is not crime. but it is a sin. but the high stardard is whoever looks at a woman and lust after her has already commited adultery with her in his heart. this is an example. we do what God likes.
well your destiny, your choice is all in your hands. i respect your choice and as said in another topic. debates like this including mine must end as it gets no where. do you know why two people argue? because both believe both are right. and finally this forum is not for debates and religious arguments. peace.
i would disagree, mainly, what are the low standards you are talking about, and against whose standards are you measuring? isnt the proactiveness against religious fanatism a good thing?
i also disagree that a discussion never get ending because both believe both are right...you present me something, get the basic facts and logic right first
i dont know why recently a lot of people present a lot of cock and bull stories even before we discuss whether the points are right

What is probably implied here is how a pedo convict expectedly associates himself with Muhammad who had a 9 year old wife.Don't be so bad leh
So who is the best pedo, the convict or the guys hanging around sch?
stay tune

well these are the standards of the world, meaning "it is OK to do it as long as i like it and it's not against the country's law."
homosexuality.. some countries already allow same-sex marriages. many celebrity declaring to the world that they are homosexual. people around the world including the youths are watching. "since they can do it, why can't we?"
pornography, strip clubs, adult video rental store etc etc. thousands of new porn clips are being uploaded daily. well it is a billion dollar "business". "i can watch it if i am at the legal age". "it's OK. it's just entertainment." secret sins like masturbation. " well the health experts says it's healthy to do so." " every guys i know are doing it, it's alright i don't hurt nobody." "nobody's gonna know anyway."
drunkeness. "body is mine, i'll do whatever i like!"
divorce. " what oath? i don't love you anymore!"
blasphemy. well lots of hollywood movie uses it. it is an everyday word. so let us "OMG". every little thing "JESUS!" "OH FOR CHRIST SAKE"...
i say these are low standards because i know of God's holy standards that im measuring to. faithful christians who are following Him daily knows of it, we live to please God. for we once were in the world too and knows the patterns of the world and worldly people.
these are examples, i am just stating since you want to know. whether you agree anot, please let us not debate because it's obviously off topic lol.

The real simple message is that chrsitians should not put their own self-righteous, bias and wrong view of the world into others because not everyone shares their religion and morality.

thats ur christian standard, so by other measures, the morality of the society has not degrade a bit
besides, in order not be be so broad since there are many standards, i use the example of AWARE and the sedition case where rationality triumph over religious fanatism
in this case, i would say we are maturing and we are daring enough to voice out against injustice

So Mr yellow, long and soft has decided to make a stand for society.
actually i am more against stupidity and fallacy

God fucking hell!

right, that wasn't what i'm trying to do at all. i'm just stating the standards. i haven't even include gambling and abortion. i know that all had sin and fallen short of the glory of God, meaning all cannot meet the standards of God's righteousness.
i do not tell others how they should live, i do not judge them because it violates them, who am i do do so? but i do warn others if they still hasn't recieve Christ yet not because of self-righteousness, but of concern. i believe you would do the same if a blind man is walking towards a cliff, i don't know about you but i'll warn him and only if he needs my guidance, i would guide him as his 'light' and 'eyes'. the rest is up to him, i do not violates people's choice.
christians who act better than others may not be be true christians or even a christian at all. "Be careful not to do your 'acts of righteousness' before men, to be seen by them. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father in heaven. Matthew 6:1
i hope you understand, and to be fair, there a few bad christians but doesn't mean there are no good ones. i believe you had come across some christians that makes you hate them or even Jesus right? but they may offend you but Jesus did not offend you right?

Bcos God is blind. Why don't you understand your acts of self-righteousness.

Sahih Bukhari volume 7, book 62, number 88
Narrated ‘Ursa:
The Prophet wrote the (marriage contract) with ‘Aisha while she was six
years old and consummated his marriage with her while she was nine
years old and she remained with him for nine years (i.e. till his
death).
Paedophilia is halal.
It's incredible news for convicted paedophiles. Birds of the same feather flock together.

Somehow I knew that you were going to quote Sahih Bukhari.....
The thing is, quite a few respected Islamic scholars (especially M.M. Ali) have questioned the veracity of that particular hadith, noting that the criteria used by Imam Bukhari to justify its strength was somewhat lacking. They also used used other sources (e.g. actual historical events and Aisha's purported age during those events) to conclude that she may have been around 19 when the marriage took place.
Even if the marriage had taken place when she was nine, that was still perfectly acceptable in the context of the harsh environment of 7th century Arabia when people don't live long lives and marriage at the point of puberty was routine.

You can google,can't you?
It will be revealed in good time to show that you are bias against Christianity when the religion of peace allows paedophilia as defined in the dictionary. It has been practised and patronised by a prophet and today many followers still do it .
Time for abrogation?

You want to defend your religion. That's understandable. So are the many people in this forum!
So, it's that complex that scholars can't have the same view? The number 9 in arabic can mean any number other than 9?
If having sex with a 9 year old child bride was acceptable to the prophet, how about having sex with one -year old baby?

Here's another proof that nine means 9, not 19:
Sunan Nasai Bk of Marriage, No 3256:
A'ishah said: The Apostle of Allah peace be upon him married me
when I was six and had sexual intercourse with me when I was nine
and I was playing with dolls.

Not really
I dont like the idea of people making statements and expecting others to disprove it. Technically, I am never biased against Christianity, what makes you say so?
Last point is, what you quoted is in the Quran written centuries ago, while people dangerously stalking school children is real. I am not a Muslim, so i am not bound to believe whats in the Quran.
Time for self reflection?

Whatever he quoted isn't even in the Quran, and Sunan Al-Nasai's book of hadith is considered even less strong than Sahih Bukhari.
And it's not lost on me that he chose to ignore the next part of what I said about taking things in context, and about the different methods other scholars used.
He sure needs some self-reflection.
