i think you may not have understood the freedom part as much as you should...
God gives us freedom FROM SIN, and not freedom itself.
We are not free to do as we please, and if anyone is tell you this, he is grossly mistaken.
ultimately you still have the choice whether you want to follow Him. God gives you the freedom to choose between pursuing worldly riches blindly or to follow and trust in Him, not necessarily follow a religious career though.
Everyone is given free choice, some decisions you make are good in His eyes but of course, if you sin, you do have to face the consequences unless you truly repent.
It is just like countries in general. Governments give you the freedom to travel about, to raise your own opinions, to pursue that career you want. However, if you act irresponsibly, you have to face the consequences. No one is forcing you to sin, or to commit crime. but if you will yourself to do so, you should get punished.
God gives us free will but 99% of humanity chooses evil over good.

If they are free so what. Are you saying they are only free to go one way. That is not freedom. It is nothing.
If He had not given freedom then what would be different?

He gives freedom to test the heart of the humanity. So God still wants us to choose good over evil.

So we are free to follow His rules. Not much of a freedom.
If I said that to my kids when they moved out they would have told me where to go.
I lost the right to impose my will on them when they moved out.
Why did God not lose His.

i do not get what you are meaning. could you please rephrase? ultimately this freedom to live your life is yours, but you have to face the consequences. this is similar to dieting. you are free to eat whatever food you like, but if you eat excessive junk, it jeopardizes your health.
do you believe that everything is arranged by God?

When man was given freedom and free choice, he rejoiced. Then God gave His commandments with the threat of punishment if His commandments and laws are not followed. These two concepts are incompatible. God gives up His
rightto command and then threatens those who do not follow His commands.Debate-
Which is it? Are we free or are we slaves?

There is no contradiction here. You can obey his commands or you can fuck off
We are slaves of freedom.
Freedom.....is very much overrated.
We seek freedom, but can we allow people freedom to do watever thay want. Example, if we do not want to be binded by any rules or restrictions, we should not expect others to be binded by them. If such , we are free to rape, kill, steal, etc?
Without rules, we lose the very meaning of our existence. The very things that makes us human. Imagine a world without rules, Chaos will prevail. We can forget about living the way we are now. We would have long perished and humans will be extinct. Am i too far off? I dont think so.
Are we slaves? But we do have the rights to choose? So does that makes us slaves? No...that makes us sane.
hmm.. i think.. we are given freedom wat. we're not forced into doing anything at all. u can choose to live a good life, or live a life of hedonic debachuary. God doesn't preprogram you to live a specific life.
but with every choice we make, we live with the consequences la, for better or for worse.
We are given freedom, yet it is us to decide what type of afterlife we want. Freedom, so many form of it... Aniwae, i agree with Ong.soosiang88 second post.
And if we do not follow His rules then off to hell forever. Is this your idea of freedom.
Sound more like slavery to me.

If you give your children freedom. Do you still punish them if they do not make their beds in their own home.

I speak of Gods rules and you speak of mans.
Did God give up the right to punish when He gave us freedom?

The freedom spoken in the Bible is the freedom from the grip of sin in that it no longer bring us the consequence of sin.... insomuch we follow Jesus's path.
The freedom spoken in the Bible is NOT - we can now suka suka do anything you want.
wat's the point of giving u something to use if u gona end up punished for using it other then itis intended for?

hmm..then im grossly mistaken??remeber adam and eve??freedom from sin as they were perfect..they had all kinds of freedom..even freedom to pluck the fruit of KoGaB..even eat it..however..it was considered the first human sin...
God gave all intelligent beings freedom to choice ie freewill..satan and friends chose to sin..think commandmants from God as a instruction manual...total freedom only leads to chaos...
to TS..imagine you have a kid..and he has the freedom to move around right??out of your love for him, would you tell him moving over the edge of a cliff kills??is it not the same in the garden of eden when God told adam he would die should he sin??
