Hi,
My old father has some blisters on his back for a week plus. He just went to see a GP. The diagnosis is Herpes zoster. Anyone can advise me on this problem? The Chinese called it "grow snake", is it? Is it contagious? Is it dangerous? How to seek treatment?
Is it the kind with blisters that will slowly form a ring around the waist ?
If I am not wrong 'Chicken Pox ' is herpes Zoster.I think it is because his first outbreak was mild but after the second he should be immune to it.Dont sweat it.

sounds more lke ringworms........try three rifles brand and shoot the living crap out of what is causing it.>LOL
it is not.. it is chickenpox part 2...
also known as shingles
the virus is known as herpes zoster..
p.s. oh yeah.. it is contagious as heck.. people may get chickenpox from you... go see a doctor and get anti-viral medication.. do not go to the chinese sinseh with their hocus pocus for this.. because if you do not treat it quickly, you may end up with damaged nerves..

Yes but if by Chrismas his father is still not cured then it is shingles all the wayyyyy
The infected area on his back consists of some rounded blisters (like ringworms). After removing the plaster, pus can be seen. Hope that the infection can go away after treatment. Taking few types of oral medicine and applied kind of antiseptic cream.
See a doctor and get a prescription for Acyclovir pills and cream. It works wonders.
I think if by know his father still has it then it is not Herpes Zoster anymore.
