Hey guys, I am currenly new to this forum (i mean "Eternal Hope" forum of course) & I was wondering, it is a sin for not going to church every sunday for mass? I have not been going to church for almost 4 months!! But instead I have attanded my regular classes in church.
you're going hell even if u did go church for mass.
Erm are u a christian in the first place? Please do not anyhow say if it is not true or u urself would be the same thing. :)
i know i'm going hell.
and i know ur going hell as well.
i'm going to ... drink water
"For God loved the world so much that whoever beleives will not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16) :D"
believes ...
eternal life in hell :D
God forgive all your sins, so dont worry, just continues not going...
Nah dun worry. It won't land you in hell.
Its like saying that you sit there 1 hr do nothing can permit entry to heaven, come on not so easy one.
Rather than going to masses, i would prefer if you use that time to do volunteer work and such.
Much more useful to god and the world than rotting in the masses.

Correct.
But believe does not equates to going to masses.
Some mass-goers just go to mass for the sake of reputation thats all.

ROFL
MASS...defination is as stated by sacred congregation of rites of roman catholic church..it is a sacrifice in which the sacrifice of the cross is perpetuated.memorial of death n resurrection of Jesus Christ.the whole drink my blood and eat my flesh thingy as in the last supper.it is how the RCC way of doing of what they understand of the last supper.
so did the man himself instruct his diciples to have a rite to renew his sacrifice?
the catholic encyclopedia states the church intends the mass to be regarded as the true n proper sacrifice.however, the cheif source of the RCC is still tradition.
Jesus said do this as a memorial to me, as a rememberance to me.however JC did not say what he did at the last supper was a sacrifice of himself or that his disciples were to renew his sacrifice.
also read Heb 9:25-28.
so does the saying of Mass bring relief to souls in purgatory?
as all will know, purgatory is never found in the bible nor is that idea being taught explictly in the bible(not church).the fathers make many references to the existence of purgatory but also the fact that the faithful departed ones can be helped by prayers of the living, especially by the sacrifice of the mass..
read eccl 9:5 to understand the true nature of death.
The question should be WHY DON'T GO CHURCH ??
If you love God and all His ways thru Jesus Christ, you WILL go church for whatever reason. Otherwise, you WILL NOT for any reason.
Always ask the right question..

If you love God and all His ways thru Jesus Christ, you shouldn't go to church, but rather, use this time to contribute to the society and help the needy.
Going to church is nothing more than a social gathering where people of the same beliefs gather. Would it help change the lives of the suffering? No! So why would that be loving God?
This is the misconception which had blinded many for so long.

well said...but also not entirely true too...after all, God is more impt then mere humans..and puttin God 1st is more impt..helpin the needy will come just after God...
wat is genesis 2:2-3 & exodus 20:8-11?

Putting God 1st and neglecting other people who are suffering is like saying God is a attention seeking whore. Would you want to present your God like that?

Gen 2:2-3 says by the 7th day God is resting as all creation works are completed..does not seems to be linked to going church...
exo 20:8-11 mention of the tradition of jewish sabbath..jus like God has worked for 6 days and rest on the 7th..so must men do it..also does not seem to link to goin for mass..

u must also know that God is omnipotent and all these suffering will come to a pass..God is a jealous God that requires total devotion.y does God wants human attention when human are nothing to him?it is because only when humans put God in 1st place will humans be able to fully benefit from being alive
pls read again.

u might wanna understand the title and also the defination of mass that i provided in earlier posts..the 7th day is for resting..God did not say after 6 days of work, go temple, church on the 7th day. instead, it encourages worshippers to congregate regularly to worship him..to help each others..
sundays are for worship.
not necessarily for church.
and it's not all abt resting.
