There are many young men in Singapore who are homosexuals or bisexuals. Some of them are also either curious or confused about their sexual orientation. A minority of these young men are actually struggling with unwanted homosexual feelings and desires --- they want to change but do not know how to.
There is a blog meant for these young men to offer them hope in Christ and to help them battle with homosexuality.
Please visit The Truth Sets You Free at http://thetruthsetsyoufree.wordpress.com/
The target audience of this blog is not just meant for Christians --- any person who wishes to overcome homosexuality will find it very useful as it essentially encourages and motivates him to persevere in his desire to change.
There are Christian pastoral articles but there are also secular scientific ones, so there is a good balance of religion and psychology.
Why this blog was set up is because many young men find disclosing their struggles with homosexuality a threat. Perhaps due to societal and cultural stigma, most prefer to be discreet and choose to fight alone and therefore if these young men are unable to speak to their pastors or find a counsellor/therapist, they can visit this blog to find help and hope that change is possible.
The Truth Sets You Free (http://thetruthsetsyoufree.wordpress.com/) also seeks to reach out to homosexuals who do not see the need to change. The blog provides valuable insights and arguments why homosexuality is not normal and not natural and thus against God's design and purpose.
If you know any person who is struggling with homosexuality and wishes to change, please spread the word about this blog. Thank you very much and may our God be glorified and His will be done.
It's genetical and it can't be helped ...
You can be homosexual and a functioning member of the soceity at the same time ...
So to be honest, there's nothing wrong with it
If you are going to take every single word of the bible to be true, then i think you are stupid.

I do not believe that homosexuality is genetic. In other words, I do not believe that a person is born a homosexual.
I am not sure why you said that homosexuality is genetic --- would you like to explain and elaborate?
Perhaps you would like to read these 2 articles, which can also be found on The Truth Sets You Free ( http://thetruthsetsyoufree.wordpress.com/ ):
1. “This is the Way God Made Me” - A Scientific Examination of Homosexuality and the “Gay Gene”
2. Can Homosexuals Change?
http://thetruthsetsyoufree.wordpress.com/can-homosexuals-change/
There are also many scientific articles, essays and reports on the Internet written by both Christians and non-Christians that defend the argument and position that homosexuality is NOT genetic. A sample of this research can be found on The Truth Sets You Free ( http://thetruthsetsyoufree.wordpress.com/ ).
As for the Bible, it is God’s Word so as a Christian, I uphold it as my ultimate and absolute spiritual authority. I think no Christian will have any issues or difficulties accepting that --- what is controversial are really the various interpretations of the Scriptures. The problem now is that there is a revisionist theological understanding of the Bible which supports homosexuality rather than damning it as a sin.
Finally, I am very certain there are many homosexuals out there who WANT to change but do not know HOW to. They struggle with these unwanted homosexual feelings and desires but have no idea how they come about. They wrestle with guilt and depression and now it is time they know help is available.
The Truth will give them hope… and set them free.

It's not genetic and it can't be helped, unless you like to have a lobotomy.

How do you know they want to 'change'? Are you them? Or are you forcing them to be who they are not?
And you can't change one's sexuality. You are either one or you are not.
Do you think I have the ability to 'change' you into homosexual? Yes? No?
Yes - I don't know I possess such powers....
No - Back to my answer.

Battle? You sound like you are talking about cancer, or WW III.
The blog provides valuable insights and arguments why homosexuality is not normal and not natural and thus against God's design and purpose.
All in all, it's all bout your holy book, isn't it?
thetruthsetsyoufree: at the same fucking time, there's lot of articles on the net that's on the other side. Bottom line is, there will forever be controversies in such experiments.
And base on my experience, I have come across some gay people that's gay due to genetics, or at the very least, i believe it's due to that.
Finally, there's nothing wrong due to being homo, so just leave them alone and sit back, relax then watch the number of atheist escalate as we move deeper into the 21st century.

I have spoken to some homosexuals and bisexuals online and they told me themselves that they want to change.
You can, in a sense, "change" me to become a homosexual --- our sexuality or orientation is fluid and it apparently hovers along a continuum.
Yes, homosexuality is alluded to a battle because the person will have to be courageous, persevere and, above all, motivated to fight to taste freedom from his unwanted feelings and desires.
Homosexuality is against Nature's design biologically and psychologically. As a Christian, I ultimately believe that homosexuality is a sin against God. Nonetheless, you may be interested in this article:

Indeed, homosexuality is a very controversial topic matter. This is why open and free dialogue from both sides ought to be encouraged.
Technically speaking, in a sense, you are right when you said that being a homosexual is not "wrong." But do also note that I am not referring to the "wrongness" of homosexuality in the societal or cultural sense. As a Christian, and because this is a Christian forum, I believe that homosexuality is a sin against God.
Finally, just to clarify --- I abide by the Biblical principle of loving the sinner and hating the sin. That is, I have nothing against homosexuals but everything against homosexuality.
i duno, but i think sometimes its genetics, but most of the time its culture. There wasnt alot of homosexuals in the past (or maybe were not publicised enough)

Why should a homosexual change just to please or pander to your religious views? You are just being selfish and unaccepting to the minorities of society.
Homosexuality is part of nature that has never been condemned by God, only by homophobes

Loving the sinner and hating the sin? Thats an excuse used by homophobes or fanatics to justify their act of atrocities against mankind in the past.
What a hypocrite! How can you follow bible principles when you dont even follow the teachings of christ? Has Jesus ever condemned homosexuals?

I oppose your straight forward ideology about homosexuality. Yes, it is a mental problem. I do not mean that it's wrong but the fault lies with the mind. Not everything can be achieved by a mind over matter solution. Hence I brought up lobotomy. But is the cure worth it?

online? where?
No, I cannot. I don't have such super power. So what if I've 'changed' your orientation one day, I don't know you, I wouldn't know your true orientation. I only know you're a straight christian who is against homosexuals.
As a Christian, I ultimately believe that homosexuality is a sin against God.
I'm with shade343, he has said what i wanted to say.
No, no time for that, and not interested.

It is not even a mental problem to being with, so what's with the 'cure'? And lobotomy? Hah....
Homosexuality is a sexual orientation, not an illness. No 'cure' or 'treatment' is needed.

It is genetic.
There are.... actually. If I'm not wrong, there were 3 chinese homosexual emperors in the past. Qian Long, Han Wudi and Han Aidi. Of course there are more, I'm just stating the chinese emperors.
The reason why you think there are 'more' homosexuals now is because, people are much more open these days and are willing to come out the closet.
Dear all
From the limited knowledge I have about homosexuality, I gather that it is a form of gender identity disorder. The American Psychological Association (APA) used to consider homosexuality as a disorder until 1973 when the gay lobby and activists pressured the APA to remove homosexuality from its diagnostic manual (it is like a directory of diseases) and ever since no counsellor or therapist would consider homosexuality as a disorder.
But there are psychoanalysts and psychiatrists (not necessarily Christian!) who still believe and recognise that homosexuality is a gender identity disorder and therefore venture into research to explore how homosexuality is developed and experiment with what can be done to change a homosexual's orientation.
If you visit my website http://thetruthsetsyoufree.wordpress.com/ you will find many interesting articles, reports, essays and excerpts from both the Christian pastoral and secular scientific perspectives about homosexuality. Hopefully any visitor to my website will see that there is intellectual integrity. Most of what I put up contributes significantly to scholarly discussion about homosexuality.
As for "love the sinner and hate the sin", what it essentially means that we separate the homosexual person from his homosexual orientation. Jesus Christ is --- quoting the gospels --- "a friend of sinners." Jesus Christ does not condemn the homosexual any more than He does to a rapist, liar, murderer or thief. But homosexuality is a sin and God does not tolerate homosexuality at all. In other words, by reaching out to unwilling homosexuals who are struggling and helping them to change, this is a gesture of Christian love.
I do not and cannot, so to speak, force a homosexual to change --- the homosexual himself ought to have the desire to change in the first place.
