i don't think that there is any doubt on whether works is important or not, but whether works is needed for salvation.
if works is needed for salvation, then one's salvation is never assured, because one need to continue to work for it.
if salvation is never assured because one needs to work on it, at what quantity and quality then is deem adequate.
... so, is salvation a gift or reward? for those who wish to argue that there is little difference in gift and reward please check the dictionary before making any post.
I believe strongly that salvation is a gift for God's chosen people.
But you cannot living a jerk too so that's why I posed the question of holy living.
Being saved also means that one needs to wait in the kingdom of death too(Damn it how to avoid being put there) before being risen by the Lord on the last day where the deads are risen. Some would be risen to recieve eternal shame and contempt(hell) while some would eat from the tree of life(eternal life). Those who are risen to recieve eternal life are risen in batches, the first ones are the ones who would share Christ power(Revelation) and be the judge of others. These are especially blessed and holy people.
What happens to the rest? I believe(no proof no insight nothing) that the rest would be permanent resident of the kingdom of death. They will be no more forever.
If i am left behind during the rapture, i will know where i will need to go for salvation.
Oblige to live holy life. I was reading the thread in Chit Chat on a naked man. Contrarily, the christian called Parn has issue with the pic of naked man but in another thread she invites people to rape her. So what holy life are you guys talking about?

Where's the basis for the rapture in the bible when God supposedly take away His people?
I think that's only Tim Lahaye's interpretation.

Wrong question. Let me repose it for you: What Christian are you talking about?
Being a member of a church doesn't make you a Christian. Being a follower of Christ does. Cosmetics religion will not bring salvation imo(Read Peter).
yes. but to me.. if i understand correctly, holiness isn't a state. it's an attitude.
living a holy life isn't about doing the right things etc, but rather it's the attitude of wanting to choose God's way.
because we're human, we're bound to do wrong things, bound to fail etc, and we're going to occationally sin all the way till we die.
it's different from the "bochup-ness", like oh, i'm a christian, but i choose to go geylang because pleasing myself is more important than pleasing God or others etc.
so yes. we are to live a holy life, sanctified and set apart for God.

You can go and ask the person yourself, I don't know her. Just read about her post. Morally speaking, she is immoral and is sinning in the christian sense. Very vain person.

So Christians are people who don't follow in the footsteps of Jesus.

God's grace has allowed us the chance for salvation for letting JC/Yeshua died for us.purchasing us back.
however, our works are just as important in the sense that the good works we do, witnessing, acceptable worship in God's eyes, how we apply biblical principle into our lives. with all these combined with God's grace, one will be saved.that is the reward for us to keep doing his words. the gift of ever lasting life.
God knows humans even though redeemed by JC/Yeshua is still imperfect. and no way can we be sinless until we are perfect again. since we imperfect beings have the strong tendency to sin inborn to us. God cannot blame us as its our limit. but when we sin, we have to truly repent and work harder to avoid commiting the same or other sins. only that way can God choose to let us off.if we were to sin again and again wilfully, we jus screwed ourselves.

those not of the small flock belongs to the other flock or those to die again.
those in the small flock are joint heirs with JC/Yeshua. co ruling as in revelation.
those in the other(big) flock are the meek ones that will inherit the restored earth.
those that are to die again...die again lor.

Well I try to get God involved in my life so I always can get some sort of help.
Whether the rapture is correct or not it's not that important to me.
I cannot find reference of it in the bible as far as I know.
wads a holy life?

to me, it's a life dedicated and set apart for God.
it's not about what you do, instead it's the attitude of how you live your life.
Actually, it is not an obligation. As Christians, we are commanded to be holy.

In theory if we have our sins forgiven and we live a holy life, we could avoid the kingdom of death.
But how many Christian lead a holy life thus becoming holy man/woman?
Worldwide now perhaps less than 100?
Perhaps it's not holiness that we should after but righteousness in the eyes of God.
A man may be not holy but he is righteous in the eyes of God.

But being holy is part of being righteous with God. Holiness is being set apart to do God's will; living by the Spirit instead of the flesh. That said, I agree being holy is very difficult, we are commanded to do so nonetheless.
