but dunno why leh, i always feel anti-christians esp when they start preaching about this and that...
i mean i know there are those sincere ones around, but i feel most of them convert just for the sake of coverting, peer pressure or just follow friends.
and i hear so many stuff about christians cannot do this cannot do that, yet i see so many gays, gamblers, premarital sex in the religion.

every religion have their own blacksheeps ya know, so i feel it is important not to stereotype a particular religion. nonetheless, i feel it is important for everyone to discuss these issues with an open mind.

i just dun really like the idea of them taking up 45min of my time on the dtreets telling me to go to church
and my friends says never to give out phone numbers...
all i can say is that maybe i am seeing the not so good side, and i raelly thanks my friend for that valuable advice

hmm.. now with so many 'monks' on NEw headline for misuse of the temple fund.
think it will be good for church, temple, .. etc.. to be more transparent with how the money is used.
personally I really find 1 of the well know church. Money kind of like any O how spend....the church deco til very the nice..
then sunday church service so big til need to organise at EXPO....etc..
Anyway.. personally i feel that if i have extra cash.. i rather give it to the individual..
cause i dun know my donation to the "church, NKF, temple.. etc"
how many percent was REALLY used to spend on helping ppl..
or making the head richer....

What I feel is that Singaporeans don't really reflect the true christian spirit. At least not to me. There are some really good christians around.
Even Ghandi once said "You people have one of the best scriptures in the world, it can change the lives of people no matter where this is preached, but do you people (referring to christians) actually practice what is preached?"

A little humiliating and ironic but I find that it's the fact. I mean, I was a christian too. For about 5 years, until I started wondering, does God really exists? Yes, I am very certain "he" or rather "it" (Referring to the bible itself" does made me a better person.
But if I were to use this book and forget about the christian craps. Would I still be a good person?
Answer is yes, I'm an Atheist now.

to a certian extent i agree with TS, i have this christian friend. forever preaching about God. When the class is watching a anti-christ movie, or somehow i dont know how it is anti-christ, he'd scream at the top of his voice, wanting us to change movie. i dont know why, can't he just, be more open minded? Like when people say God dont exist, he'd once again go, " f- you larh, if there is no God blahblahblah. " When during movies, the actors go " Oh my God !" he'd scream, " DONT SAY THE G WORD. " or something so. It's really irritating.
i mean, even as a buddhist, if people go "Buddha doesnt exist." "Buddha sucks." i wouldnt bother much because i know deep down inside, Buddha do exist, and i believe in Buddha's teachings, all i need to know is myself, i dont have to think about what others think.
On the other hand, i do have more of the open minded christians, where they yeah..almost totally opposite of the not-so-open-minded christians? hah.

Not all Christians are like that... just the over zealous or fanatical ones... My time in BPT, I sleep next to a Christian friend as a bunk mate... he's ok... Talked a few times about religion and we get into a good discussion but not ALL the time... plus he looks bery devoted, read the bible every night b4 going to sleep... all around a very nice guy...
But the same thing can't be said about this preachers going around telling me "I'm evil and the only way to save myself is to go to Church"...

NO. more like doing publicity for CHC. wear skimpy clothes and behave like a whore in that simi china MTV with some black dudes. people from city harvest u tell me la. she setting good example? if answer is NO, den why bother join it in the first place?

nowadays who really follow the orthodox religion liao lor?
people believe in wadever god which can make them get rich/ strike 4d/ toto, wadever.
others simply follow, cos "its cool to be a christian".... making religion more like a fashion trend than something they truly believes in.

I was told that they get the money thru GIRO from the members, wow. They are asked to buy more CDs for the sun the horse face.

judge judge judge, this is the word overuse and abuse by christians. Christians don't talk talk only, show your love for God in your behaviour and in the way you treats others.

How many of us laugh at ancient greeks worshipping gods like ZEUS, APOLLO etc etc...
But during their time, when science wasnt as advanced, all the forces of nature are due to their influence, i am sure many of us had a good laugh at them when we look at them in the present day light.
Sometimes i just wonder, say one thousand years later, when science has became so advanced, how would the future generations look at christians of our times? i just wonder, what do you think?

i don't think there's still one thousand years later. Jesus is coming down very soon (open your eyes and look at around us, the signs...) And the one who judges us is Him.

one is called the wordly christians, the other the spiritual christians. For the rests of the world? They are called natural persons.
The worldly christians are those who has open the door to the spirit but has also open the door to the flesh. The worldly christians still lives in the flesh even he or she has been born again
"5For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins." (2 Pet, 1:5-9)
If you do not possess these qualities, you then have the characteristics of a worldly christians. he or she is then ineffective and unproductive, sluggish and does not grow in faith.he or she is nearsighted and blinded to the Holy Spirit's truth and listen to the lies of Satan.
"Brothers, I could not address you as spiritual but as worldly—mere infants in Christ. 2I gave you milk, not solid food, for you were not yet ready for it. Indeed, you are still not ready. 3You are still worldly." (1 Cor. 3:1-3)
A spiritual christian has his door open to the spirit but the door to the flesh is closed as the flesh has been crucified with christs. the mind, will and emotions are summited to the spirit. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."(gal 2:20)

so what you mean is that they have no conscience and cannot control themselves and condemning other religion and talking absolute no sense is absolute normal?those that talk more sense in churches like some " father or brothers maybe sisters" who still know what they are doing have not even been spiritual and worldly?
to me if your "spirit" is gone. you could not think or do anything, your body would just be an empty shell possessed by jesus like what you said

thing is, the exception sticks out... we remember the exception and think about it most of the time.. until we sometimes convince ourselves that the exception is the rule...
by taking the asswipes as examples of the faithful, we do a great disservice to them who quietly and piously go about their lives being a beacon of good to their community...

jus my thoughts (no offence).... i agree wif TS... my gf's frens always preach abt god to her n always ask her to go church.. which i feel is a bit irritatin..
i mean everyone has their own belief and it will be rather good to respect them for if they dun wish to go but not keep msgin or calling them to attend something tat dun like... tat is why tis is givin ppl very very bad impression...
even when i c on tv tat ppl boycotted some movies bcoz it is abt anti-christ.. i feel is really not necessary to do it or make into such a huge scene.. coz if one really truly believe tat god or jesus really existed, tis movies wun have any impact on u... maybe they r scare tat ppl will question abt it once they watch..in some sense they maybe dun have any confident in their faith...

playboy 1985..the emotions u felt about the christiandom is very normal...cuz they do not know what they are preaching at all.the worldwide christiandom is the one where stated in the bible that when the christ returns,he will not know them when they call him master.
mordern christiandom preach twisted doctrines and they usually use young people of the opposite sex to attract young recruits. once in, they pay and pay.justified by the 10% thingy.while they are over zealous in proving their God is alive yet do not know even his name. any slight sign of disregarding them might result in a small scale jihad.
and its very common for priests and such people of power to be child lovers(toss 1 boy in a pit with 2 priests and the winner gets to fight MJ) or anal lovers. when the congregation finds out?? just transfer them to other churches.
even WWI n II arise due to christians fighting among christians. so its little wonder u feel that way about christians.
