actually dumb2 is quite right. it is not easy to impose.firstly, there is NO moderator.
secondly, even if there is one, moderators in EH has always been accused of being bias or high handed if they take actions against prepertrators.
thirdly, individuals choose to respond in anyway they want, and being cordial may be the last thing on one's mind... take you for example, you don't always come across as someone friendly.
.....i am not sure when's the first time you started with EH.... but this forum has a long history of being contentious.... why do you think it is NOT moderated?
I am only suggesting self restriant.....well, if abuses was hurl at you, I am sure you will not respond to in a friendly way.... And if we want a friendly discussion, don't attack with unfounded and hear say issues and hurling abuses....I.E. be responsible. Is that an issue you are picking on? If not, let's not waste time.

lol, action speaks louder than words, and the actions of the disciples speaks about the theological teachings of the Master, so if i have mistaken alot of stuff, just by observing the disciples.. well... hardly my fault =)
anyway alot of things non believers say about christians are unfounded too. so solution is to make them eat humble pies eh? =)
and, just a little food for thought. if i've repented and am trying to practice self control on my temper. is what you're doing encouraging me to continue, or stumble my walk?
if Jesus spoke of forgiveness and to forgive your enemy, why are you so concerned about my sincerity? you should have forgiven me regardless whether i am sincere or not. thus it's your issue.
and if Jesus also talk about turning the other cheek, why are you trying to up my lorry? =)
if i am now observing the acts of the disciples to see for myself how true is their Master's teaching, what would i have gathered from you now? =)

are abuses still continuing? apologies were made yet the sarcasm still continues.
someone had accused me of something recently, I asked for an apology, the apology was given, the matter is no longer important. I don't even question if the apology was sincere....

the acts of the disciples reflects the teachings of the Master, i guess.

ha.. we don't always get what we want la. the only thing we can control is ourselves. this is what i learnt recently.
how do you want to react to difficult people? u can't control how they treat you.. the only thing you can control is how you treat them back. shrugs
like i've already apologised, but if he still wants to take the opportunity to up my lorry and reminding me that i ate humble pie (which i hardly think so), making it difficult for me to control my temper, stumbling me, reflecting poorly the teachings he bragged to have received, i can't do anything about it. shrugs.
i just have to keep reminding myself who i am turning the other cheek for. =(
haha ok, i'm done here, i need to go study. EXAMS!!

yes it's common... where an apology is really not an apology.
but based on the merits of the issue between dumb2 and mrlim, dumb2's apology does not sound like that.
also, for people involve in mediation, the word "sorry" is a powerful word, so let's not discount it's value.
when I am wrong, I'd even apologise to my sons.

lol, yeah, i guess if you gloat while winning, in a way, it's questionable on why you're debating or arguing. is it for God's glory or for your glory when you are debating.
if the other person is wrong, and he apologises, and you follow up by giving in to him and encouraging him and building him, you're really doing it for God, because you're building someone. but if you're continuing to tear him down, you're not doing it out of love, and you're not upholding Jesus' teachings, then it's pretty clear you're doing it for yourself and for your own glory. that in itself, destroys the basis of your argument.
something i think i need to keep in mind also.
anyway bottomline is. it's not a good idea not to discuss sensitive topics. i never once felt that brushing stuff under the carpet is a good idea. never did.

Facts speaks for itself.....just read. Your intention to mediate is questionable......If you are neutral, you mediate, if you have other intentions - don't - it's obvious.
Go on and celebrate your victory...over what ? Eating humble pies?

Eaxctly, actions speaks louder than words.....you just apologised in the other thread for your whatever you did......now you started by being suggestive here....
You will always get stern rebuttals until you stop....up to you to think if people are stumbling your walk, the choice is yours.
If your aplogies are sincere, you actions do not match up - that's all.
What would you gather ? You should think.....who is really for you and who is against.

hmm. for a person who kept insisting that he isn't angry, certainly sounds angry. come on la. i've already apologised. smile smile!

tell me your intention.....if you read on a neutral basis of his first post.......
I never ask for apology......
I never think I am always right.....but if somone think he has not done wrong, why apologise? Strange......

lol, my actions do not match up to your expectation. that doesn't make my apologies insincere. well, it doesn't matter la. i've apologised, i've thought about it, felt sorry for it, will try not to lose my temper in here again, try anyway, enough for me. =)
don't lose sleep over it, ya? cheerio =)

Then why you back off and keep quite why others challenge you in "No offence to christians"? You really think what other's said are crap like what Chin Eng said? Or was it your actions that caused it? I always said, your intention is good but execution wrong.
Walk your talk.....then.
By the way, Jesus did not jump from the cliff because He did nothing to receive the challenge. Your case??

i apologised because i was wrong in losing my temper. the reasons why i snapped was real to me. the issues were real to me. but i shouldn't have taken them out on you. i was angry at my aunt's friends, and involved you because you both write the same religion on the resume paper.
and i apologised not because you asked for it, but because i do felt bad after it. in which you said you weren't angry, so there was no need for it. so why are you acting up now? if you're angry, just say you're angry.. nothing wrong with it. pointless in trying to act righteous like you're above being angry over petty issues. if you're angry, and you should be, because i was really horrid, then admit it. i'll apologise again lor.

Never did and never will..............not that your actions did not match up my expection, it's obvious.......you know best in your heart.

then when the crowd told Jesus to come down from the cross to prove his claims of being God, he didn't answer it either.
i backed down because if i said anymore, i'll really blow it. and definitely, my execution was wrong. =)
