do you believe that a foetus possess a soul?
Which is the real question? The one in your topic title or the one in your opening post?
i dun encourage.
nope
I don't support abortion.
The baby is waiting to see the world and there are so many couples (who cannot have children of their own) willing to adopt babies.
Choose adoption, not abortion.
Well it depends. If the baby is jeopardizing the mother's life abortion is okay imo.
Or if the foetus has been known to be imperfect but this is real tricky would you grow a blind child or a paralyzed one knowing that you could abort it having come to this world.
Other than that bring the foetus into the world. You did that and now be responsible for what you did.
This baby will still belong to u under yr name tho u kill him/her.
This is a tricky one. But when TS asks the question, wat ru really asking for? To prove a point that religious people are myopic?
I believe life is present at the moment of conception, so simply put it, when abortion happens, there's murder.
I think those who believe in abortion are pro-choice - can people choose to keep or abort? But i think the question goes beyond that - it's a question about life. Whose life are u going to protect? Whose life are u going to save? And i think that's where the issue of choice comes in. Pro-life first, then choice.
Although abortion is legal in some countries, one should not even consider aborting a foetus. It's your blood and flesh.
The memory will come back to haunt you. Believe it.
I belive life begin at fertilization or conception, so to abort is as good as to kill, it is that simple.
And in 10 Commandments, it is only say "You shall not kill", not "You shall not kill unless the mother life is in danger, or the baby may born with handicap, etc. etc."
I believe that we don't have the right to decide upon our own life, of course we also dont have right to decide that the baby should die.
Because I think God is powerful enough to save the baby from being handicaped or save the mother from death if He wants to, but if He decides that we should take up our cross, we are not fit to decide other way.
Soul or no soul....if you cannot support the baby yourself or if you know the baby has defects, or if you have STDs, please abort.

spare us the preaching pls.
I dun support on abortion but sometimes when it happens, it happened.
Just recently had a miscarriage because my baby heart beat stop. However, I have to go for abortion to remove my womb.
Anyway, all things happen for good for He is my provider.
Life starts from conception, and all foetuses, wanted, disabled or otherwise, are equally important in the eyes of the Lord.

I agree with kuali baba.Abortion is murder.I will never allow my girlfriend to have abortion if I ever have one. That's why no girl wants to be my girlfriend because I am a religious and morally extremist.

HAHAHAHA!
Yea.
I think we all knw.
Everything is satanic to u.
Another one of those lame topics, as sumone2 (how many sumones are there really???) had said, what is the real question?!
How about I throw this in: Would a parent attempt to repair a damage child, or would a parent just simply say, what God has given me, I will accept it in whole?
In simple practical terms, if a child can be born with simple defects like a hair-lip, or more serious ailments like a hole in the heart. Do we then say, because God has given me this child, the way it is, I will accept it as it is?
.... or do we attempt to correct it....??
therefore, taking away all healthy children..... should we then abort a really sick child knowing that the child will either NOT survive or have a miserable life throughout his living years?
one more thing....
if, according to Christian doctrines, all children who die as children will go to heaven.... wouldn't this be a more realistic approach?
.... but as someone else had said.... this is a very controversial topic. Let's hope that none of us have to face this question.
.... I am glad I didn't have to come to a point of decision on this issue.

Of course it is the responsibility of the parent to repair the damage child. The issue here is the life is not belong to us, we should not decide on someone's life or death, not even our own, it is belong to God.
I am not sure which Christian doctrine you are refering to, but Catholic believe that unborn babies will not go to heaven as they die in original sin, which is only removed during baptism, however as I heard that since they have no fault of their own, they will go to highest part of hell called 'limbo'.
And like you, I also hope and pray that none of us will have to make this tough decision in our life. Because if we are not strong enough to take the burden, it may cost us our relationship with God.

I disassociate myself from you and some of your beliefs which aren't even teachings of the Church.

I agree with you...if you follow Christ's teaching, you should not be having pre-marital sex in the first place...so no question of gf going for abortion.....and surely no problem finding gf one...
If a baby is diagnosed with genetic disorders than I think should be the only time abortion be taken into consideration.
I dont know what Christ thinks of this but to me I think the child and loved ones would be spared of more emotional pain in future. Personal thought....

There are three at the moment, apparently got banned because of sending PMs to people that were non-threatening in nature. Very devious methods, so much for being fair.
Anyway, I think we know the intention of TS is not to seek answers to his question but his objective is something else.
So which is the real question?
1) Do you support abortion?
2) Do you believe a foetus possess a soul?

part in bold: hard to say.... would a girl go for a weirdo?

He or she could also grow up to be as inspiring as Helen Keller, and his/her upbringing and the support he/she receives from the parents will likely play a part in that. It's in the interest of the child that he or she should get a chance to receive and experience love. I hope that doesn't sound too preachy.
i think it's wrong. if u wanna have sex, have it after your married so you won't need to abort the poor fetus.
