My friend, God has made it easy — and you will find that it is exciting — to live life under the new covenant!

following Jesus does have its difficult moments, and that's when this verse is so true. by following Him, I have made an enemy of my father. And yet Jesus commands us to love our enemies, and love those who persecute us

Piper is a good writer on the Reformed position of Protestantism. He is one of the few authors I enjoy reading about classical Protestant Christianity.Originally posted by Creation1656:Have no idea what this apologist is taking about. Can you help?
Now what does that mean? I think it means that what the moral law of God requires of us, we will do, if we pursue it by faith, as those who are already justified, and not by works, in order to be justified. If we get right with God first by faith alone, and then live in that freedom of love and acceptance and justification, we will be changed from the inside out and will begin to love the very things the moral law requires so that they become established in our lives - not as works of merit, but as the fruit of faith (I Thessalonians 1:3; 2 Thessalonians 1:11) and the fruit of the Spirit.

"Will a man rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, How have we robbed you? In tithes and offerings. You are cursed with a cursed, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you." Malachi 3:8-9 NASB
The 'carrot' method can also be used.
"Bring the whole tithes into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test me now in this, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows." Malachi 3:10 NASB

so the question becomes how? After you are saved, what then? How do we keep the ways of Yahweh? What does He want from us?Originally posted by dumbdumb!:i believe that there are 2 parts to this.
justification and sanctification.
the justification is done by Christ alone. we can never fulfill the Law, and we our position of salvation rests solely on Christ's work on the cross. nothing can shake that foundation.
sanctification on the other hand is a life long process. Jesus started a good work in us, and will finish it throughout our lives.
we're always learning, improving, and becoming holy, it is apart from our salvation.
at least that is what i think
Yet in all your boldness... you forget to reverence Yahweh. Do you go boldly into the throne room of a King? or do you come in humble supplication?Originally posted by bernardgoh:Romans 4:5
5But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness.
Boldness is what God wants you to have when you come to Him. He does not want you to be afraid to come to Him, feeling unworthy because of your sins. He wants you to come boldly to Him, knowing that the death, burial and resurrection of His Son Jesus Christ has justified you and qualified you to boldly receive from Him.
This was the kind of boldness that the woman with the issue of blood had when she touched Jesus. (Mark 5:25–34) Now, this woman knew that she was breaking a Levitical law which states that anyone with a bodily discharge is unclean, and should not appear in public or touch anybody. (Leviticus 15)
But she refused to feel condemned by the law. She believed what she had heard about Jesus, and was confident that there would only be love and compassion, not condemnation, from Him. She believed that Jesus would justify her and qualify her to receive the miracle she needed. That was why she boldly pressed her way into the crowd to touch Jesus, who indeed said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well.” (Mark 5:34)
What was it about her faith that made her well? Romans 4:5 tells us that it is the faith that believes that God justifies the ungodly. When you believe that God justifies the ungodly, it will give you boldness to come to God, even when you feel unclean because you have just sinned.
When you fall, donÂ’t run away from God. Run boldly to Him, knowing that you are justified by the blood of Christ, and not by your good behaviour.
The devil may say to you, “How can you do that? Who do you think you are?” Don’t listen to him. Pick yourself up and thank God for the blood and the gift of no condemnation. (Romans 8:1) If God justifies the ungodly, how much more you, His beloved child!
So seeing the finished work of Yeshua on the cross is seeking the kingdom of Yahweh???Originally posted by bernardgoh:So every day, make it a priority to see yourself righteous in Christ. DonÂ’t be conscious of your sins, but instead be conscious of your righteousness. And whether you are reading your Bible or listening to anointed preaching, see Jesus with His pierced hands and side, which speak of His finished work. See that your sins are forgiven, and you will flow with peace and joy. When you do this, you are seeking the kingdom of God!
another one of those name it claim it sermons? you forget friend that blessings follow obedience.Originally posted by bernardgoh:GodÂ’s Blessings Are Yours To Take
Deuteronomy 28:2
2And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake youÂ…
God wants to bless you and He delights in blessing you. He has even declared that “all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you”. This means that you won’t be able to run fast enough to escape them! When you turn one corner, there is a blessing waiting for you. When you turn another corner, you run smack into another blessing!
Now, you may think that you are disqualified by the first verse in Deuteronomy 28, which says that these blessings will come to pass only if you diligently obey GodÂ’s voice and keep all of His commandments. And you know that no matter how hard you try, you can never keep them all. If you fail to keep just one commandment, you disqualify yourself from the blessings of God!
My friend, I have good news for you: Jesus is the one who qualifies us for every single blessing because He kept all of GodÂ’s commandments. When He died for us on the cross, He not only fulfilled all of GodÂ’s commandments, He also redeemed us from the curse of the law. (Galatians 3:13) He did not redeem us from the blessings of the law, so the blessings are still ours today!
As you read the list of blessings in Deuteronomy 28, starting with “Blessed shall you be in the city… in the country… the fruit of your body… your basket… when you come in… when you go out…” (Deuteronomy 28:3–13), I believe Jesus is saying to you, “Like the blessings? Take them.”
You may say, “But I don’t deserve them.”
Yes, you don’t deserve them, but you still get them — undeserved blessings! The law says, “You must deserve the blessings.” But the law is no longer here. Grace is here. So take the blessings by grace through faith. Believe God for the blessings.
Today, it is no longer a question of how much or how well you have kept God’s commandments. It is a question of how much you can believe God for His blessings. All the promises of God in Christ are “Yes”, and because you are in Christ, you can say “Amen!” to your blessings! (2 Corinthians 1:20)
