it is so interesting to note that peeps who don't come in here to chat has suddenly shown so much interest in this forumOriginally posted by eagle:1)If you are washing your hands off the forum, why are you too concern about it? Isn't it obvious that plain selfishness is dominating your reasons now?
2) If sillyme is the one who bought the webspace and host the forum, then he is the true owner. Else, he's just using the forum space of Jason.
3) Seriously, this forum can be closed, and the threads moved to a new forum for Christians started by Jason. Won't that give the same result as now? Yet it will fulfill your decision... But is that necessary?
Doing all these is tantamount to someone who rather burn away $50 dollar notes than donate it those who need it more.
again, it is so interesting to note the sentiments of those who are not even active in this forum.....Originally posted by Hello Kitty:awww. once again, my hero saves the day.

nothing to see and nothing to feel right????
yup, the ultimate ownership does belong to Jason.... however it does not mean that he is in the best position to pick mods if the original mods wish to go away. also religious forums are sticky issues. if a wrong mod is chosen, the flame will even be hotter. the onus of selection of mod lies with jason.... so does it mean that if in the future the mod messes up, it's jason's fault?Originally posted by Ferret:Nah. I am responding because like meow meow says, we are "outsiders"...
and from what I see,
you are right that respect has to be accord to the forum owner about his wishes to close down the forum.
Yet on the other hand, ultimate ownership does belong to Jason.
And also, there are people who does care abt the place enough to want to keep it open.
So by opening the applications for mods, Jason is choosing general people's happiness over the ex mods' wishes.

thank youOriginally posted by sillyme:Hello all,
You are right. Even if Jason said that I was the "previous owner", he has the last word.
Let me recount the sequence of events.
- I received a PM from Jason asking if I want to transfer the membership.
- I asked how the transfer is going to be conducted. Jason said I could nominate someone or he will maintain it as a public forum.
- I replied that I wish to let Eternal Hope remained closed.
- Jason said he is sorry to hear that I want Eternal Hope closed. He will open Eternal Hope as a public forum and hold elections.
- I asked if Jason will reopen the forum even if I wish that it is closed. I said that if that is his decision, I requested that future moderators be given more power.
- I asked if there were technical limitations to close or delete Eternal Hope.
- To my questions, Jason replied that future moderators can contact him or Fireice for any problems. There was no agreement to give moderators more power.
- He added that there are no limitations to how he can delete or close the forum.
- I requested to delete Eternal Hope entirely.
There was no reply after my last request. Two days later, we were removed as moderators.
To be fair, it is his forum. He can choose what he desires. It does not matter if you are a Christian forum, a chit-chat forum, an Aunt Agony forum. Any sub-forum is just another revenue generator.
It is my opinion that it does not matter if I do want Eternal Hope closed or not.
You are free to form your own opinions with regards to the whole situation. However, I think it really does not matter. You are just a statistic, a click count.
exactly...... we are just click counts....Originally posted by sillyme:It is my opinion that it does not matter if I do want Eternal Hope closed or not.
