Dear Members,
As the previous owner and moderators have decided to discontinue their involvement in this forum, we will be holding moderator selections to pass the management of this forum on.
I would like to invite all who are interested in the position of moderator for these forums to please PM me. Please include in your PM a short message to the community introducing yourself - who you are, where you are from, why you are interested in the post, why we should choose you, etc etc.
You will be Role Models and Leaders, tasked with upholding Peace, Order and Justice in our forum.
Closing date for applicants is 8th December 2007.

On the assumption that this forum is to be continued (against the wishes of the forum creator).... what powers do future moderators have to "upholding Peace, Order and Justice in our forum." and how can these moderators ensure that "this forum is not for religious debate or contention. Please refrain from any such postings."??? -

Hello eagle and all.
I admit that my information about transferring the forum fully was outdated. The information I had was what I got a few years back when I PMed Jason or FI. I was told that nothing could be done then.
Following my announcement to close EH, Jason PMed me informing me that it is possible to transfer the forum to someone else or make it a public forum.
I asked a few questions regarding what can be done to EH. After some consideration, I had requested that EH be deleted entirely. Subsequently, there were no more replies. Chin Eng, ben1xy and myself were removed as moderator without notification.
Other than my decision leave EH because of my current priorities. I think it is best to close EH because sustaining a Christian forum in sgForums is not feasible. It is my opinion that my interests, and I believe the interest of Chin Eng and ben1xy's too, are not in agreement with the Admininitrator of this sgForums. -

i agree wif sillyme... Jason, u r doing more wrong than right for not respecting sillyme's decision. if he want tis place to close completely, let it be!
it's against the culture if this forum landed in wrong hand. i believe the oldies n regulars here will feel disguise if they see this place has totally change.
if matter becomes worse, sillyme can even sue u for copyright for using the name of Eternal Hope. -

the issue is not whether you or I agree to the closure. the issue is that the original starter of the forum wants it close. -

If everyone in this world do not allow their previous work to be shared by others, do you think we can reach the state that we are at now? This argument from you just shows plain selfishness as well as ignorance. If it was my own forum (which I have), I wouldn't mind if others took over because my main aim was to share knowledge and know liked minded people, and especially since if I were like sillyme to want to wash my hands off totally.

obviously admin has the right to do whatever he wants to do. nonetheless, human decency would have allowed admin to go with what the forum starter wanted. -

2) If sillyme is the one who bought the webspace and host the forum, then he is the true owner. Else, he's just using the forum space of Jason.
3) Seriously, this forum can be closed, and the threads moved to a new forum for Christians started by Jason. Won't that give the same result as now? Yet it will fulfill your decision... But is that necessary?
Doing all these is tantamount to someone who rather burn away $50 dollar notes than donate it those who need it more.
