If there is a "perfect" message but no "perfect" messenger, how can salvation be conditional upon one's belief?Originally posted by Chin Eng:I hope so too.... too many times, non-Christians go through experiences with some Christians and think that that's all there is.... and begin to stereotype all Christians to be one and the same.
I think ''believe'' would be a more proper word to fit into that sentence logically.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:Why do people assume that there is something after death? There is totally no evidence of that. On the other hand, when someone can make you believe it, they can control you so that you do what they want.
hmmm ..... is there any evidence that christians go to heaven?Originally posted by Chin Eng:from the POV of this forum??? non-Christians go to hell.
however I do agree with APKY that there is no evidence. the Bible contains a parable where a man goes to hell and wants to return to earth to warn his brothers.... however such is not possible.
at the end of the day, you die, you die.... habis. what comes after that cannot be proven.
Whether it is an assumption or belief, people are afraid to die, and are not certain where they go after they died.Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:In this context, it can be used interchangeably.
People assume that it does not end with their death and look around for something to believe in.
People are taught that there is something after death and told to believe what they are taught.
i certainly do nt want to c myself in hell after death .......Originally posted by sillyme:Don't be too worried what happens after death.
Be more concern about how you live your life now It is only when you are alive can you make a difference.
hahaha, you are always here, had always been here and will always be here, as far as you are concerned. No matter where you go, you are always "here". To others you go here and there but to you, there is no such thing.Originally posted by TheGoodEarth:Whether it is an assumption or belief, people are afraid to die, and are not certain where they go after they died.
Don't you know the curious nature of human? They always want to know where you go! Your parents, your gf/bf, your spouses, your bosses, and of course busybodies and christians too!
the key word to this question is "evidence"....Originally posted by TheGoodEarth:hmmm ..... is there any evidence that christians go to heaven?
quite funny... the exchange between PK and TGE....Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:hahaha, you are always here, had always been here and will always be here, as far as you are concerned. No matter where you go, you are always "here". hahaha, I would be glad if nobody cares where I go. That is freedom! So I go here and there, no matter what. If others want to go where they want to go whether now or dead, it doesn't matter much to me, unless they are backpacking with me!!!!Originally posted by AndrewPKYap:hahaha, you are always here, had always been here and will always be here, as far as you are concerned. No matter where you go, you are always "here". or perhaps you're still lost in the mountain looking for that elephant... still saddled with all the questions you'd left unanswered...Originally posted by TheGoodEarth:hahaha, I would be glad if nobody cares where I go. Indeed the keyword is 'evidence'. I was not asking for POV. If point of view then it is pointless to discuss. As for the meaning of evidence, can you look up the dictionary?Originally posted by Chin Eng:the key word to this question is "evidence"....
what is admissible evidence to you?
as I had clearly stated, the statement that Christians go to heaven is solely from the Christian POV. You'd ask the same question to a person from another beliefs (religious or otherwise) their evidence is solely based on their POV.
so again, what is admissible evidence to you? obviously from the Christian POV, the "evidence" per se is only from the Bible, which, of course, you do not admit as evidence, so that being the case, there is really no common ground for any further discussion.

funny as in humourous.... not funny as in stupid.

The Christian evidence is the Bible, but since it will not be an admissible to you, we are only left with POV.Originally posted by TheGoodEarth:Indeed the keyword is 'evidence'. As stated by some, we do not have evidence if such a place really exists.Originally posted by goldevil:i certainly do nt want to c myself in hell after death .......

Likewise, to ask a non-believer about heaven, we will be left with the conclusion that non-believer CANNOT prove that heaven DOES NOT exists....
Can you prove that you are still on the mountain? [/b]
Huh? Shouldn't it be the other way round? The deeds we do in this earth determines your life after death...be it heaven or hell.Originally posted by sillyme:Don't be too worried what happens after death.
