It depends on the congregation and the pastoral direction.Originally posted by hysheng:Would like to gather the comments of all you peep here for the above-mentioned topic..
Quick .. send unker eng for "counselling".Originally posted by Chin Eng:I use to be a CG leader but I no longer attend any CG and will not, in the foreseable future be attending any.
Actually has been participating in a CG for the past 2 years I am a Christian but honestly I dun really like the fellowshipping. Has recently pointed out to my CGL that I wish to be taken out from the CG but was told this is not God's plan for Christians to live this way.Originally posted by Icemoon:We 'd like to ask you a few questions.
1. Where did you get the idea it is a must?
2. In your opinion, do you think it is a must?
In the context of Acts, the young church do not really have a focussed meeting point. In this portion of Acts that are used to justify CGs is really the church in it's infancy, where believers met at each other's homes.Originally posted by hysheng:Actually has been participating in a CG for the past 2 years I am a Christian but honestly I dun really like the fellowshipping. I gathered from the bible, esp the book of Acts, that Christians should fellowship and be involved in groups. It is also quoted that "If we are gathered in HIS name, HE will be in our midst." Then there is the saying that no man is an island...etc. So can I say biblically Christians should be involved in small groups?
Do you have friends in church that you can turn to if you are not in a cell group?Originally posted by hysheng:Actually has been participating in a CG for the past 2 years I am a Christian but honestly I dun really like the fellowshipping. Not actually for sunday service is set by Catholic Church but rather the Apostolic Church.Originally posted by latterrain:it's the idea of the modern church that cell groups are created. Yes the bible talks abt the early disciples gathering together but never mention how long they gather or how to gather. the modern church comes out with their own idea of cell group system only becos they want to manage the members better. The question is just like whether it is a must to attend church on sunday. Some chrisitan don't attend church on sunday becos their church got sat service or mid-week service. btw, the whole idea of attending church on sunday is set by the catholic church (some of you might know this). so how do u justifiy whether a christian must attend a cell group just becos some churches are doing it? Do we have a mind on our own?
Technically, it is not a must to be in a cell-group or bible group.Originally posted by hysheng:Actually has been participating in a CG for the past 2 years I am a Christian but honestly I dun really like the fellowshipping.
