You must first love yourself before you can love others. How true is this statement? Is this in line with what the scripture is teaching? I have heard it quite often lately, from radio, from friend.

if u dun love yourself enough, once u are in love, u will lose a great part of yourself.. and after breakup, u will find that u completely lost yourself.. -
Hmm. I find that loving oneself too much is a great danger; I tend to see myself as one who is here to serve others before my own needs. I've no great liking for myself, to be honest.

makes u feel good about yourself.
also talks about self esteem, loving yourself means finding worth in yourself too..

I don't believe scripture specifically say that you need to love yourself FIRST before loving others. Scripture does say, however, that in order to love others, we need to also love ourselves. -
Beri true! Loving yourself means learning to appreciate yourself for whay you are, all your strengths AND weaknesses so that you actually are your best friend and you enjoy being yourself. Only then can you feel truly comfortable with yourself that you can be alone without feeling lonely......
At this stage, you want a partner not because you need someone's companionship. Rather, you want to find a partner because you want to share your joy and happiness...... -
The Bible does not tell you to love yourself. But it does say that even if you do not love yourself, God still loves you because you are wonderfully made by Him.
If you believe that God loves you, you can choose to love Him back. You do this by allowing Him to change what is not desirable to Him. -

I feel that the way to have better self esteem is to make more wise comments and bascially talk more. Also, thick high, then you will be high.You are what you think you are. If you always thick negatively of yourself, you will end up a loser and vice versa.
