1. Jews are God's chosen people because Abraham chose God first. You are right. The Jews are not equal with you. Judaism is very clear on this - traditionally a Jew has to obey the 613 commandments while you only have to obey 7. Count yourself lucky, at least you can eat pork and lobsters.Originally posted by Solid_Snake:1) Why are Jews God chosen people? Isn't it God make everyone equal? Why
2) In the beginning, God created Adam & Eve. I assume they are Jews right?
If yes, and they were to multiply on this earth then everyone on earth is a Jew. Why are there non-Jews today?
Would love to hear your feedback.
They can't eat lobster? I didn't know that. Why? Btw, if Adam & Eve were not Jew, then wat were they? Any idea?Originally posted by Icemoon:1. My point is this - Jews are indeed 'special' people in God's eyes. Special in what ways? Surely not because they have business or political genes in them (c.f. Jewish moneylenders, Henry Kissinger etc.). If you read history, Jews were marginalised people and subjected to persecution. (c.f. Spanish Inquisition, holocaust etc.) Special treatment? Yeah right ..Originally posted by Solid_Snake:They can't eat lobster? I didn't know that. Why? Btw, if Adam & Eve were not Jew, then wat were they? Any idea?
Actually God made covenants with many people, including Adam.Originally posted by laoda99:1) Becoz God made a convenant with them.
Yes, Gentiles (Non-Jews) and Jews are no different according to Apostle Paul.
There are many theories to this.Originally posted by pwnz0r:given that was an existing convenant made with Abraham and his people, will the Jews be saved even if they do not acknowledge Christ? Even if they are observant Jews and keep all the old convenants? Will God acknowledge them?
Or does it still stand that Jesus is the only Way?
Aiyah....no difference la......Originally posted by Icemoon:Actually God made covenants with many people, including Adam.
Gentiles and Jews are obviously different. If they are truly no different, then Jews can just follow the same salvation plan as gentiles.
The fact that observant Jews are still alive today shows that God is still preserving them.Originally posted by pwnz0r:given that was an existing convenant made with Abraham and his people, will the Jews be saved even if they do not acknowledge Christ? If no difference, they can theoretically follow the same salvation plan.Originally posted by laoda99:Aiyah....no difference la......
it is extremely difficult to come to any conclusion.Originally posted by laoda99:There are many theories to this.
Some believe the Jews are no longer "chosen".
Anti-semitism started with Christians.Originally posted by gigabyte14:but why does people hate jews?
They are also waiting for a saviour. But Jesus did not fit the description of that saviour.Originally posted by pwnz0r:However, they have ignored the prophecies foretold in the last books in the OT that a true saviour will come.
Anyone familiar with with Jewish theology that they are still waiting for a saviour that Jesus is not the one they're waiting for? Or do they completely reject any idea of a saviour and that just by keeping the commandments they can truly be saved?

The 13 Articles of the Jewish Faith proposed by Maimonides are these:
God exists
God is one and unique
God is incorporeal
God is eternal
Prayer is to God only.
The prophets spoke truth.
Moses was the greatest of the prophets.
The Written and Oral Torah were given to Moses.
There will be no other Torah.
God knows the thoughts and deeds of men.
God will reward the good and punish the wicked.
The Messiah will come.
The dead will be resurrected.

Unlike Christianity and Islam, Judaism has no official creed or universal doctrinal requirements for membership. In general, a person can be considered "Jewish" whether he adheres to a complete system of beliefs about God and the afterlife, holds only a few simple beliefs that give meaning to ritual, or even (at least in liberal Judaism) does not believe in God at all.
This diversity in Jewish belief arises in part because actions (good deeds and the mitzvot), not beliefs, are the most important aspect of Jewish religious life. In addition, the term "Jewish" can be used to describe a race and a culture rather than a religion, so some who identify themselves as Jewish may have little interest in the beliefs and practices associated with the religion of Judaism.

They are also waiting for a saviour. But Jesus did not fit the description of that saviour.
Matthew 27:22-25 NIV
22"What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?" Pilate asked.
They all answered, "Crucify him!"
23"Why? What crime has he committed?" asked Pilate.
But they shouted all the louder, "Crucify him!"
24When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. "I am innocent of this man's blood," he said. "It is your responsibility! "
25All the people answered, "Let his blood be on us and on our children!"
Are you done?Originally posted by Skibi:The Jews in general have long since passed the point of no return with regards to their covenant the moment they cruxified the very savior they had been waiting for.
It is important to realise that no return does not mean that God is unwilling to pardon them, but rather that they are unwilling to repent.
The sack of Jerusalem by Rome, and later the mass genocide of the Jews by Hitler are fitting examples of their unrepentance. They have paid the price in blood and will continue to pay because God is unable to protect those who break the covenant.

Here's another difficult question for Christians - if Jews did not crucify Jesus, where is your salvation?
Remember .. no calvary -> price for your sins not paid -> no salvation.
You mean you or me?Originally posted by Skibi:Petitio principii argument.
