Go and flame the other forums like you do in EH and see if the statistics changes. Anyway AEN has already stated that there are closed threads in Buddhism. So your numbers are not too accurately. You will, of course, state that there is a better reason there than here.... moderator's prerogative. Don't owe you any explanation.
Threads are v rarely closed in my forum actually... but partly to do with not receiving as much flamings as EH. Personal insults, and 'adult content' like wat Ito posted.. I just edit their post so they wont affect the topic's discussion... and fortunately I dont have do that often as well.
edit: I just did a count... six closed threads in my forum for the past 10 pages... four of the topics are completely unrelated to buddhism, and one thread was promoting an unorthodox buddhist cult.. one of them (created by NT2) was closed bcos of personal arguments (i.e arguing about whether NT2 is flaming) and personal attacks that has led the topic nowhere for 20 pages though the issue is already completely discussed in the first two pages (which i think may be what EH is experiencing sometimes) so end up everyone asked me to close the thread -

As I'd said, EH is probably the most flamed religious forum, so the higher lock threads is probably expected, but as I'd said everyone is entitled to his opinion as to why the mods here lock threads. Let's say we have mac, kfc, bk (my fav), long john silver (my fav too), and mosburger. If you feel that your forum kept getting flamed, perhaps there is something about the way the queries are replied, opinions are discussed, hence causing it to be flammed. Or maybe there are something about the behaviour about EHians.

however, I would not want to point out who are the guilty ones, whether they are the Christians defend our faith or the non-Christians attacking our faith. I have an inclination that it is probably both.
I don't know how familiar you are with the history of EH and how explosive it can get, and how, sometimes encouragement of "agreeing to disagree" is ignored simply because one side is bent on winning.
As I'd said, we encourage all to give and take, but not all non-Christians are willing to do this.
Let me say, that most Christians and non-Christians get along quite amicably until the appearance on those who are only interested to put down, under the guise of discussion. I think those of us who frequent this place know who I am talking about.
One can always tell whether debates are sincere or not by the tone of the posts as well as the language used.
However my offer still stands, anyone know of anybody else who can mod better than me, let him put up his name. As long as the peeps here decide that I am not doing a good job, I will be more than willing to step down. -

To be fair, u do get posts censored in other religious forums. You won't get to see the original post, only something like deleted due to disrespectful. About me and my points on evolution and ID, I think it should be noted tat I did not start these arguments in the first place. It is always some guys who start to give a total biased view of their stand. When I reply to it, they fantastically get chopped off abruptly. Why does the "moderation" always started after I reply and not when someone making a stupid stand, I don't know. U mean the same stupid misconception stand of some people here doesn't sound repeatative ? If u don't fell like reading, don't read. It doesn't means just because u do not like to read it then it has to be censored off.
Anyway I am busy and do not want to post heavily as before. However if there is some threads tat r misrepresented I have to write something to it. One issue which I am particular about is mis representation of science and logic. -

Sometimes it is the topic. I dun recall many incendiary topics in other religious forums. Maybe before we blame the mod, we should see what kind of topics are posted in EH.
