No disagreement from me on the issue of the purpose of CG for the church.Originally posted by vince69:CG does have it purpose in the ministry of the church, especially so when it comes to a more closer support group level Reason being, in a church setting locally here, most people would just come, attend service, go home. With CG setting, its easier to foster a more personalised and closer relationship, people in CG tends to know each other better, and more able to share and support each other (being in a ministry helps too, but not all church members are in ministries)...
Now only left 10,000 ...Originally posted by M©+square:FCBC seemed to have stuck at sub 15k members(correct me if i'm wrong)
100,000 target have been the Ah Khong's mandate all these while since 1990s.
G12 in bogota will reach a million memeber by end of 2007....Originally posted by vince69:Hmm ... interesting, given the G12 movement is more towards long term mentor/discipleship type of relationship, which differ from how a cell group behaved which is grow & split, I am suprised that its still being refered to as a cell group/cell leader, I would have thought Mentor/Disciple will be more appropriate.
***
Cell group - grow to a certain number, split up into two or more smaller group which grow and split, the initial group now effectively no longer exist, but had split into smaller groups ...
G12 - 1 leader mentor up to 12 disciples training them to grow up in maturity, these 12 disciple then go out and each mentor their own disciple ..... and so on, but the initial group of 12 remains, just that the disciples now had in turn mentor their own, they still remain as mentored by their mentor.
Sorry for the misconception I trying to imply that my goal is to be a support to my church toward the 100,000 salavation goal by 2007...Originally posted by M©+square:The whole sentence didn't make sense at all!
Unker you're good. You tried to make sense out of it!
What was his leader doing before Cell Leader?Originally posted by Chin Eng:... ok, seems that decision has already been made. no need to worry about it anymore.
You call him a nitro-cellulose.Originally posted by M©+square:What was his leader doing before Cell Leader?
A assistant cell leader?
Then why didn't he call him my assistant cell leader. Instead, he called him leader.

I fully agree.... this term "corporate holiness" is probably one of those meaningless jargons that had crept into some churches. Superficially, it implies a very good target to achieve, but realistically, one cannot even measure holiness of an individual, so how can one quantify corporate holiness and say that it has been achieved.Originally posted by M©+square:I know what 'corporate worship' is, but i doubt 'corporate holiness' could be corporate in Churchwise.
different people have different need ...Originally posted by Chin Eng:No disagreement from me on the issue of the purpose of CG for the church.
My point is: CG does not serve any purpose to ME, as an individual.
I agree with you, which is why I am dead against churches that insist that their members belong to a CG by making the CG structure a doctrine.Originally posted by vince69:different people have different need ...
