yes.. to prevent spam and for ease of reference.Originally posted by davidche:Threads in forums organise a forum as their are various possible topics that could be discussed in a forum.
Staying in thread-topic preventing from going oot helps to organise the forum.
It makes it possible for future references
When some people has a topic or question in mind to post , he/she would not be faced with : should post in a new thread or in the one which goes oot, but dealing with the same topic.
My stand is yes.

You know, dave, after you edited your post, I still don't understand what you are trying to say.Originally posted by davidche:Various possible topics could be discussed in a forum. Threads organise a forum by categorising and labeling its topic.

I said organise as in: eg, X thread will only be about X topic. Going oot will mean X thread contains XYZ..Originally posted by Chin Eng:You know, dave, after you edited your post, I still don't understand what you are trying to say.
The forum engine does not allow similar type topics to be organised as a subfolder. What you see is what you get.
Reasons for closure of threads varies from forum to forum.
For EH, one of the points stated by sillyme (and I concur) is that a TS must be responsible for the topic he started. If over a few days, the topic strayed because the TS does not contribute or maintain that thread, this thread will face the risk of being closed. The reason for this stand is that we don't want people to anyhow whack but take responsibility of what he does.
.... so I take it that you quite buay song because I closed your thread?
My answer is if you have doubts over any questions, the best means of seeking an answer is to the church itself.Originally posted by davidche:Various possible topics could be discussed in a forum. Threads organise a forum by categorising and labeling its topic.
