Should threads be closed due to oot in discussion?

Various possible topics could be discussed in a forum. Threads organise a forum by categorising and labeling its topic.
Staying in thread-topic prevents from going oot helps to organise the forum so that multiple topics of discussion dont get mixed in one thread. It makes it possible for future references When some people has a topic or question in mind to post , he/she would not be faced with : should post in a new thread or in the one which goes oot, but dealing with the same topic.
My stand is yes. -

The forum engine does not allow similar type topics to be organised as a subfolder. What you see is what you get.
Reasons for closure of threads varies from forum to forum.
For EH, one of the points stated by sillyme (and I concur) is that a TS must be responsible for the topic he started. If over a few days, the topic strayed because the TS does not contribute or maintain that thread, this thread will face the risk of being closed. The reason for this stand is that we don't want people to anyhow whack but take responsibility of what he does.

So lets say a newcomer is looking for Y topic, if the forum is all oot threads(XYZ jumbled in a thread), then this poor guy would have to flip thru all the threads page by page to find wht he wants: Y
THUS, if you are discussing about X topic, go to a X thread. If y, Y if Z, z. . .
No i am not at all unhappy about the closed thread. No grudges.

So I guess you changed your mind. Previously you mentioned (in another thread) that there is no need to close it. You even PMed me to tell me about it.
One way to organise threads better is to use brackets. e.g.
[Discussion] Topic title
or
[Query] Topic title
Something like that. One problem is that titles cannot be edited. We can probably put up a sticky on this, but some are not in a habit to read instructions. -
