sometimes we may not feel good, sometimes we may even feel God is far far away. but faith says, the Lord is near, so near that He dwells in you, and He promised that He will never leave you nor forsake you.
(haha .. I can say this to you now, I still feel lonely as if God had left me sometimes... so, be of good cheer, and have to keep reminding ourself, He is faithful)

Don't you get it... its not about you. Its about Him.
All the people who were close to Yahweh in the Holy Scriptures wrestled with Hashem. They sought Him, then they sought to understand Him and His ways, not what He can do for you. When you get to this point only will you begin be close to Him.
When you can wrestle Him like Yakov(Jacob) did, when you can talk to Him like Moshe(Moses) did, when you can obey Him like Elijah, then you begin to understand what it means to be close to Hashem.
It is us who have to put in the effort to make sure that our relationship with Him is strong. Otherwise the whole purpose for which you were created will be left unfulfilled. -

the requirement is that you need to be part of the care group (at least 6mths) then you are allow to serve in Church Ministries ... -

but if a person is already down, I will say, just do it.
it may seems going to church and listen to sermon is like going through the motion, I will say, just go and attend anyway.
it may seems whorshipping God and prayers are like just going through motion, I will say, keep worshipping and praying anyway.
Thing is, its when we are down that all these things we do seems like going through the motions, I will say, just keep doing them anyway.
when the right moment, comes, the Holy Spirit may just reignite the flame in you, till then, just keep doing what is right, even if in doing so, it feel like just going through the motion. -

Hello noahnoah,
Having a closeness with God needs effort, just like you would do with a friend. You spend time talking and listening to your friends just to bond with them.
I encourage you to set time aside to listen and pray to God. I know it is hard to discipline ourselves. I have been through times of dryness and have plodded through quiet time. But it is always possible to go back to Him

If you are not close, you can always do as SingaporeMarcross says and report to the Devil.

Every chance of going through the motion is a chance for you to get closer to God .. agreed?
Better than going to service. Service is passive. You can choose to fall asleep during the sermon. Or let your mind wander off to something else.
