Jesus to disciples: “Let anyone of you who is strong enough bring out the perfect human and stand before my face.” They all said, “We have the strength.” But their spirits did not dare to stand before him, except for Judas Iscariot. - Peuaggelion Nioudas
Matthew 10:39 NIVSimilarly, those who hanker after the reward of salvation will lose it while those that serve God fully without desiring any reward will be blessed.
Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.
Where in the Bible that is stated that God demanded that you descend to hell to do battle with the 7,405,926 demons of hell and their master Satan?Originally posted by Skibi:Similarly, those who hanker after the reward of salvation will lose it while those that serve God fully without desiring any reward will be blessed.
So I ask again... what's wrong with going to hell? If God demands that you descend to hell to do battle with the 7,405,926 demons of hell and their master Satan it should be a great honour. The apostle Judas Iscariot was the first, and shall not be the last.
now then you know!Originally posted by davidche:on second thought, skibi seems like a cult...

Discussion topic... about the morality of hankering after rewards. Is it really for God's sake that we desire to go to heaven, or is it rather to save our own skin from the torment of hell?Originally posted by furb:Haha typical behaviour of humans... if there is no rewards, why would i even bother.
Nope. According to your own title, it's about what's wrong with going to hell, and to fight the 7 million plus demons and Satan himself.Originally posted by Skibi:Discussion topic... about the morality of hankering after rewards.
Nothing is for God's sake. God don't need us. He is God, He is the Independant One. It's not a favour we're doing for God to receive salvation.Originally posted by Skibi:Discussion topic... about the morality of hankering after rewards. Disagree.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:If we were intended to go to hell, Jesus didn't have to die for our sins. He could have died for a selected few. But He died for everyone.
John 3:16 - "For God so loved the world..." and that includes you, and even Judas.
16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.The world doesn't include everyone. It refers to the selected few. Because in verse 17, it says God send His Son to save the world. But we know it is not possible the whole world (everyone) can be saved.
Your logic in red is amusing, to say the least.Originally posted by dumbdumb!:The night Judas betrayed Jesus, Jesus called him, "Friend". He knew Judas would betray Him all this while.. But He never abandoned him..
Judas perished because he didn't understand grace. He felt so ashamed for betraying Jesus he took his own life instead of turning to Jesus for forgiveness of sin. Compared to Peter, who betrayed Jesus in his own unique way. He too felt ashamed and terrified, but he trusted Jesus' promise of salvation and was forgiven for his sins.
I think you misunderstand my siggy.Originally posted by Skibi:So I ask again... what's wrong with going to hell? I think he is just using your siggy to put forward a point, but somehow I find his argument about 'Judas going to hell to fight Satan' familiar, like I come across this somewhere else, just that I can't seems to figure out where I heard/read this beforeOriginally posted by Icemoon:I think you misunderstand my siggy.
In the Peuaggelion Nioudas, Judas did not go to hell.
On the contrary, Judas received enlightenment, in the gnostic sense.
Judas is in hell according to Dante.Originally posted by vince69:btw ... there is one thing I am unsure about, that is, did Judas go to hell? or did Jesus' death also redeemn him (Judas) and he (Judas) is also saved?
very sorry , who is Dante ???Originally posted by Icemoon:Judas is in hell according to Dante.

What a joke .. you mean God is not sovereign over hell? Is hell outside the three realms (san1 jie4)?Originally posted by Skibi:So I ask again... what's wrong with going to hell?
