In engineering parlance, this forum has very low signal-to-noise ratio. Most of the alleged controversies are due mainly to several inter-related factors:
a) intellectual sloth: not doing homework before shooting off meaningless questions;
b) failure to define terms, such that people rage on about matters when they use the same words to mean different things;
c) anti-Christian flamebaiters, most of whom cannot hold a proper debate. There are very few genuine atheists in this forum who are willing to engage Christians in a serious and respectful manner;
d Some Christians starting off a debate by quoting the Bible, when our interlocutors do not work on the premise of Scripture as the infallible Word of God; and
e) lack of patience and humility (which is mainly our fault as Christians);
Hope is a gift of God. If we are seriously interested in sharing that hope with others, it is not very evident in this forum.
