Big Bang is not nothing create something. I think we need to be clear on this.Originally posted by Pope Nicholas:Big Bang is kinda biblical i think haha.
Scientist loathe it. Proves God in some sense. How nothing created something.
I think the nothing creating something is accurate.I think the proper term is ex nihilo.Originally posted by Icemoon:Big Bang is not nothing create something. I think we need to be clear on this.
It is biblical because there was a creation - of time, space and the "raw materials". The Jewish understanding of creation, since the medieval age, uses unscientific terms and labels but resembles the modern physics understanding of the phenomenon.
Yes. Ex Nihilo.Originally posted by Pope Nicholas:I think the nothing creating something is accurate.I think the proper term is ex nihilo.
Good point.Originally posted by Icemoon:Yes. Ex Nihilo.
But note that physics can describe what happens before the Big Bang (the use of before is confusing, sorry).
In other words, atheists need not be uncomfortable with the Big Bang. This is the point I'm trying to put across.
I'm not sure for fundamentalist christians - those YEC type though.Originally posted by Pope Nicholas:But christians too can be comfortable in dealing with big bang. Thats half of my argument.
christians have not notion of Torah, to them it is more like a good bedtime story...Originally posted by Icemoon:I'm not sure for fundamentalist christians - those YEC type though.
Jews have no problem with the big bang.
We wonder why .. don't they hug their Torah (Genesis is in Torah mind you ..) tighter than the Christians?

Or else Jews can just patronise any halal food store liao.
Well, I also have been rather tolerant with breytonhartge's stupidity. If he doesn't read the links that I post and start to ask stupid questions and give dumb remarks, that's just dumb.Originally posted by SumOne:There you go again.
The people here have so far respected your right not to believe in any religion, be it Christianity or any other faith, your not believing there is a God is a belief in itself.
Just as how others have respected your beliefs, it would be nice for you to respect the belief of others. Questions are one thing, but when you are tending towards provoking and annoying people by the tone and nature of your posts, its a different thing altogether.
I seriously doubt the "good intentions" of your posts. And I can tell you that this discussion is going to end up nowhere, because ultimately everyone will still continue to believe in what they originally believed in.
And with people like you posting remarks like that, it's no wonder that eventually such threads become flame baits. Which I think might be your intention all along. But it remains to be seen if your behaviour would improve.
Post your questions and queries, but leave out the snide remarks and the insults. The people here in general have been very gracious in replying your points despite your annoying and bratty behaviour. As a person being, you should be gracious enough to do the same.
Unless your intention is to just stir up trouble, then it's a different thing altogether.
