New christian always very on one.. after a while.........

Normally , I can seea lot of newbie christian always very on fire for God ..
attend services , cg , going for bible class etc
but after long period of time... start to fall not so on fire for God
in the end backslide
why is that so kekek -
dats easy. temporal are emotions, feelings waver with time.

no proper foundation.
-
no discipline n no daily communication with god.
faith not strong enough.
tats why must read bible constantly.
go church twice a wk.
pray everyday anytime n anywhere. -
Foundation no good, no matter how on also will get burnout or disillusioned. -
i'm quite like that

Which is why the turnover for new believers are as high as dropouts.
Some stayed and took the 'Roller Coaster Ride' or i call it the 'Stock Chart'. -
It is when they realised god doesn't pay their bills.

actually this type of behaviour is nothing new and is not restricted to Christianity. We pick up a hobby or sports or anything of interest, we will go through a period of quick pick-up, it will plateau and may drop.
having said that, there are many of us actually grow more and become very involved with a ministry in church, therefore, it is not always true that all new Christians fall off. I have seen many grow from strength to strength - all these depends on the grounding and the support of the church - which is why it is important to get oneself involved in church. -

I think the "trick" is to focus on God and not the church.
The church today is responsible for much of the backsliding because their focus is very often wrong. They tell new believers - hey it is very hip and happening here.
Among the 36000 denominations, how many of them truly equip you with the proper foundation? -

A church is like a microcosm (sp?) of the society.
You have the pledge (all the creeds), a government (church leadership), find job (teaching, even help run the church bookshop), find voluntary work, learn skills (video editing, singing, leadership etc.) and even find your future wife there.
Other than material needs (shelter and food), all the rest you can find in church. -

In the Catholic Church, most converts are quite enthusiastic. Of course there are always the fallen away ones. Most of the time it's due to loneliness. Many feel quite lonely in the parish, even myself. I can deal with that. But most cannot, so they fall away or end up in other places where they feel more welcome.
