Yes Tecman is a bookshop name in Bras Brasah.Originally posted by skyodise:wow.. few minutes so many reply.. what a lively forum
thanks guys.
So is Tecman a bookshop name in Bras Brasah Complex? sorry I'm not so familiar.
I'm looking for NRSV since I heard it has a non-bias and good literal translation and a respectable among scholar (believer and non-believer). Some more in study bible/annotated version, before every book it include some fact and historical point of view.

So this Tecman, does it also carry some Christian critics books? Something like Bart Ehrman's 'Misquoting Jesus' etc.
I mean which Christian bookshops here to find these kind of books?
or my best chance to get this kind of book in Singapore is only at kino or borders.
No, I rather get Christian Critics books from Christian scholar, that way is more objective IMOOriginally posted by laoda99:If you want muslim point of view about Christianity, can visit mustafa book shop.
Actually, the author u quoted of that book misquoting Jesus is not very much different from other scholars.Originally posted by skyodise:No, I rather get Christian Critics books from Christian scholar, that way is more objective IMO
I am a skeptic too.Originally posted by skyodise:Sorry, maybe I use a wrong term, maybe textual criticism is better term instead of Cristian critics. Coz I saw many of my Christian friends still read the Bible literally and belief that bible is inerrant.
Yes Bart Ehrman is Agnostic but he is not Atheist(yet). But at least he used to be ChristianOriginally posted by laoda99:Actually, the author u quoted of that book misquoting Jesus is not very much different from other scholars.
They are "Christian" scholars. Like misquoting Jesus's one, he is an atheist.
Another prominent "Christian" scholar is Elaine Pagels. But she is pro-gnosticism.
Oh sorry yes...he claimed to be AgnosticOriginally posted by skyodise:Yes Bart Ehrman is Agnostic but he is not Atheist(yet). But at least he used to be Christian
I just believe that not everything written in the bible should be take literally coz some of it is actually a traditional mythology or metaphor that the purpose is to send a moral message not to tell a history.Originally posted by laoda99:I am a skeptic too.
A lot of things I cannot recouncil with, but I do hold the belief what the bible wrote about Jesus is inerrant: Salvation is only through our Lord Jesus Christ who redeemed us from our sins.
In this way, when u read any book on textual cirticism, u can still have something to focus on and not lose ur faith.
Buy a bible commentary. Can help u to understand the background of the different books easier.Originally posted by skyodise:I just believe that not everything written in the bible should be take literally coz some of it is actually a traditional mythology or metaphor that the purpose is to send a moral message not to tell a history.
