there are many common awkward situations you will find yourself in. small things like when you say grace and your frens take away your food and when you open your eyes and they just laff at you and say things like " see, pray somemore lah, pray until nothing to eat". I also have a fren who says "I am GOD" and whenever he sees me praying, he will just keep taunting me, "dun be stupid, dun keep praying to me leh"Originally posted by laoda99:poor gasband.....

These are just some small awkward situations you will go thru, but hey the bible did say these things do happen, dun they?
but your role as a believer is just to invite them. They mock, they laugh or insult you, you have done your part.Originally posted by SumOne:Actually, it may not help. Because they'll view your acts of love with extreme mistrust.
As seen in their posts about the Christmas invitations. Merely simple christmas invitations but they start making all sorts of mockery about the intentions of such invitations.
have not encountered that haha but my own mum took my bible and burned it in those big containers which they burn incense paper and chase me out of the house haha. But that was then, now my parents are so much more open to listen to me about Jesus.Originally posted by laoda99:Hmm.....chey......i tot got a guy call NUS come b4 u and use the bible as toilet paper infront of u.......
So u the only believer in the house?Originally posted by gasband:have not encountered that haha but my own mum took my bible and burned it in those big containers which they burn incense paper and chase me out of the house haha. I don't know, maybe it's just a different perspective. They're not accepting is one thing, but to so greatly twist the intentions of people is just not fair.Originally posted by gasband:but your role as a believer is just to invite them. They mock, they laugh or insult you, you have done your part.

mockery of christians and christianity are not for just young people. If anything, the older folks take it a a new level. WHen you are working your ass off and depending on yourself to make a living, and here I am a christian thanking God for food, they get real curious and frustrated even that why am I thanking God and not my employer, my bosses or whoever... and they will just scold you things not just for fun, as with some of the remarks here, but they meant malice.
yeah, one of my colleagues in fact was so annoyed somehow by my saying grace that he just ask me to "F#$* it"Originally posted by laurence82:not mi
hahaha
yah, unlike gasband frens, we do or say things out of fun, not malice
