Catholics not so stringent about marriage partners???

As in they can marry a non-Catholic?
From what I have observed so far,they are not so particular about die die must marry a fellow Catholic
Compared to the Protestants... -

My bro in law's father is not a Catholic,but my bro in law's mom is.After they married,the father still remained free thinker and stayed at home on Suns while the mother went to church together with the kids. -
Mixed marriages require a dispension from the Bishop, with the following conditions.
1) Both parties must promise that their children shall be brought up as Catholics
2) The Catholic must promise to endeavour to bring the non-Catholic to the knowledge of the truth
3) The non-Catholic must promise to allow the Catholic liberty for the free exercise of his or her religion. -

so for such complicated cases, it would be good and helpful to the marriage if both parties are of the same faith irregardless Catholic or Protestant.

Many of the faciliators are converts. Some only converted years after they got married.
That's why the tactic of saying "If you love me, convert to my religion" should not be used at all if you want the marriage to work. Let the partner discover God's grace at his/her own pace and own timing. -
Hmm i dont know abt that. Mainly I know that it is law for the children to be Catholic.

In case of disparity of cult an express dispensation from this impediment is required for the validity of the marriage. This permission or dispensation presupposes that both parties know and do not exclude the essential ends and properties of marriage; and furthermore that the Catholic party confirms the obligations, which have been made known to the non-Catholic party, of preserving his or her own faith and ensuring the baptism and education of the children in the Catholic Church.
Its for salvation as the Catholic Church holds on the view of St Augustine of Hippo in 397AD, that there is no salvation outside the Catholic Church. -
