You go and read about foreknowledge in theology then tell me what you think?Originally posted by Skibi:God never said he could foretell the future 100% in the bible. IMO the idea that God can foresee the future is a pagan view.
The idea that there is a bad angel in total opposition to God is itself a pagan view.Originally posted by Skibi:Edited to clarify. Lucifer promotes this idea so that God will be seen as the source of evil. It is really a pagan view.
Thought i ask to give thought to it liao?Originally posted by Icemoon:Doesn't it blow your mind when Satan could have such free access to God?
.. when you were taught that Satan and his minons were banished from heaven due to their rebellion.
edit: should be minions.
so what's the conclusion?Originally posted by M©+square:Thought i ask to give thought to it liao?
I ask you to think about it then you ask me for conclusion.Originally posted by Icemoon:so what's the conclusion?
Haha .. look at my complaints about the corruption of the Holy Scripture by the Christians.Originally posted by M©+square:I ask you to think about it then you ask me for conclusion.
the whole thing is a sham lah.Originally posted by M©+square:Topic of Original Sin, not easy topic
MC siam.
You mean this topic on Original Sin is a sham?Originally posted by Icemoon:the whole thing is a sham lah.
it is just something Christians invent to justify their monopoly on salvation.
in a way it is .. 'cos we are discussing something which is non existent.Originally posted by M©+square:You mean this topic on Original Sin is a sham?
So... are you still in John Calvin's camp?Originally posted by Icemoon:in a way it is .. 'cos we are discussing something which is non existent.
is it any wonder any discussion of this sort will lead to the participants going around in circles?
Someone asks a perfectly legitimate question. People respond. In the end everyone gets more confused.
I suggest we should just apply Occam Razzor.
I always believe in squeezing wisdom out of anyone, be it the Catholic fathers or Protesant fathers.Originally posted by M©+square:So... are you still in John Calvin's camp?
You think you mix blood ah?Originally posted by Icemoon:I always believe in squeezing wisdom out of anyone, be it the Catholic fathers or Protesant fathers.
Remember one central tenent of Calvinism is the idea that God is sovereign. I squeeze it out.
nope .. I'm trying to engineer the perfect religion .. whahaahOriginally posted by M©+square:You think you mix blood ah?
Will get aids one.
I also thought i'm mix blood.
Maybe you should.Originally posted by M©+square:I prefer to let this matter rest.
Originally posted by Icemoon:jokes aside, wisdom need not come from the theology. It can come from the attitude.
The attitude of how you view yourself in relation to God and the Bible. Do you have a God-centered theology? Or do you have a "me" theology?
In church-speak .. instead of proclaiming the Cross, you keep on hearing "by his stripes, you are healed". IMHO, this is a sign of a "me" theology.
Come to think of it .. I get irritated by people in MSN who use superlatives to describe God for their nick. Other than the mushy mushy feeling, I feel these people are immature. Do mature Christians use superlatives to describe God in their nick?
Perhaps these people have not grasped the Theology of the Cross. When can I see someone preaching a crucified Christ in their nick?
Did you happen to read my thread???Originally posted by M©+square:No man should desire to be happy who is not at the same time holy. He should spend his efforts in seeking to know and do the will of God, leaving to Christ the matter of how happy he should be.
A. W. Tozer
Modern christians. Heed it....what matters is not the church life or friends that could make your life fulfilling.
It is to seek the heart of God that makes your life whole.
Not bed of roses, but surely something which all Christians should embrace and cling tightly to.
Your placement of God in you're life is most essential to your spiritual intent and ultimately tells where you stand in Christ.

What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us

I don't know!!! Don't tell me and don't educate me!!!!Originally posted by Icemoon:Paiseh lah .. I might have glanced through but did not reflect upon it.
Seriously I dunno who is A. W. Tozer or Paul E. Little until you peeps mention it. I'm afraid they are just another bunch of charismatic authors. So I tend not to pay too much attention unless they claim to expound ideas from a Great.
It will be great if a methodist can enlighten us about Wesley and a Calvinist about Calvin or Luther.
Ironically the only Calvin quotes came from you. While people like NT2 claim to believe in Calvinism, they have never quoted a single work from Calvin, neither have they quoted from the authoritative Westminister Confession of Faith.
Ben said he read a lot on church history. Not sure whether he read enough about Reformation history, but I think it will be very sia suay if we need a Catholic to educate Protestants on their history like the Heidelberg Disputation of 1518.
