I attended WEFC before also leh, during the first few months when they first started in Woodlands.Originally posted by ben1xy:i have brought some Protestant stuff i picked up at WEFC and adapted it for the youths. they enjoy it actually.
don't say historical aspect of the Christian faith .. many dun even know the historical aspect of their Protestant faith.Originally posted by ben1xy:yup. i'm referring to the compilation. and i'm surprised when some talk like they know everything.. but after the first 5 mins... u realised that they are just empty vessals pretending to know. my only problem with some Protestants is they totally ignore the historical aspect of their faith.
i attended 6 months after they started? i continued for like 2-3 years there?Originally posted by vince69:I attended WEFC before also leh, during the first few months when they first started in Woodlands.

i will leave the theological wrestling to the theologians bah. i will stick to the hands-on aspects of church work and of couse occassional readings of my books.Originally posted by Icemoon:which is why I said semi.
aiya .. if a Protestant can accuse you of that .. it is very likely he knows his stuff very well. Don't play play.
The situation is quite funny. The shallow Protestants only know how to parrot their leaders and say Catholics are not Christians. The hard-core fundies say the same thing, except they seem to know what they are saying.
The ones in between are ok .. like vince.
it's a really beautiful church. u shld come during WYD! see the Pope.Originally posted by vince69:

Correct me if I'm wrong, the church BS do not often talk about the historical aspect. At the most is one or two passing remark about some Protestant history.Originally posted by ben1xy:got so kwa zhang meh? i'm sure the churches organises talks n classes right? do they?

Time in Catholic bible college + time in Protestant bible college + time in Jewish bible college.
I wonder whether they let me do my industrial attachment in the Vatican.
oh, i always thought that at least they would talk about the reformation period or maybe the crusades or inquisition (they can attack Catholics with this ). I see history as being very important. it shapes theology and the church itself. the impact that history has on the evolution of our faith must never be understated. it helps depict a clearer picture and let us understand what went wrong where our differences lie.Originally posted by Icemoon:Correct me if I'm wrong, the church BS do not often talk about the historical aspect. Maybe the Catholic Church organises talks n classes to discuss Augustine and Aquinas .. but I don't think most Protestant Church so siao on go and organize classes talk about Luther, Edwards or Wesley.
Seriously how much do Methodists know about the Wesley brothers?
How much do Presbyterians know about John Knox, Luther and Calvin?
How much do American Christians know about Edwards and Finney?
You know la .. the only non biblical names "worthy" to be mentioned in many "big churches" are what? Hagan? Copland? XX? YY?
So many Protestants dunno who is Isaac Watts .. but they know who is Hillsong?!
