No need for Jesus to change it, the Prots beat Him to it.
don't get it?Originally posted by laurence82:its like saying christianity got nuthing against homosexuals, or for the matter of fact, against heretics, or thingsl ike anti-Catholicism or anti-CHC etc wont happen
my responseOriginally posted by laurence82:Can you be a gay and also a Christian?
in short, If this person, be he/she is gay or straight, sincerely wanted to be a christian (assuming he/she knows what it means to be a christian).
If one is sincere about his/her repentence and wanted to receive Christ, should/could any christian prevent him/her from doing so?
issit possible for a Christian to believe homosexuality is not a weakness and is perfectly natural .. and still get the conviction and strength from the Holy Spirit?Originally posted by vince69:If there is any changes needed in the lifestyle, and free from bondage, and strengthening of weakness ...etc, the Holy Spirit can do a much better job then any one of us can ever dream of.
so why they still do it, and preach against them?Originally posted by vince69:can anyone of us says he/she is not a christian? I don't think anyone can.
against the person? or the lifestyle choice/preference?Originally posted by laurence82:so why they still do it, and preach against them?

Sometimes you really sound like a Prot you know?
Hmm .. maybe I'm hearing the authentic Christian faith.
No. Gays and other sexually immoral people cannot enter the kingdom of heaven. Logically this would apply to lesbians too.Originally posted by Icemoon:issit possible for a Christian to believe homosexuality is not a weakness and is perfectly natural .. and still get the conviction and strength from the Holy Spirit?

I always think a Catholic can learn from a Prot, and vice versa.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:i donno, maybe he thinks im a prot... which can't be good.
a small number of people look at the differences. most people i talk to actually chooses to think of both groups as Christians. Esp, when it comes to field work, differences between Catholics and Protestants are minimal, we all recognise that we are all brothers when we go out to do ministrial work.Originally posted by Icemoon:I always think a Catholic can learn from a Prot, and vice versa.
Actually Catholics and Prots do have many similarities, but we often focus on the differences. We miss the forest for the trees.
Hmm .. maybe the people you talk to are more understanding.Originally posted by ben1xy:a small number of people look at the differences. most people i talk to actually chooses to think of both groups as Christians. maybe bah. the only people that i did not have good experiences with was a certain christian grp and sporadic meetings with occasional Protestanants. However, the Protestants that i met, i could hardly take them seriously as they were sprouting stuff with no basis. Whatever they knew were all hearsay and u could tell straightaway that it was probably their BS leader that told them those things. when i tell them that the bible they used originated from the Catholic church .. they said i was lying ...Originally posted by Icemoon:Hmm .. maybe the people you talk to are more understanding.
In chinese, ji du jiao and tian zhu jiao are different labels. It is regrettable ji du jiao tu is synonymous with Protestants now.
huh??? I though its we missed the forest for one tree?Originally posted by Icemoon:I always think a Catholic can learn from a Prot, and vice versa.

I hate it when people talk nonsense in an authoritative way.Originally posted by ben1xy:maybe bah. the only people that i did not have good experiences with was a certain christian grp and sporadic meetings with occasional Protestanants. i have brought some Protestant stuff i picked up at WEFC and adapted it for the youths. they enjoy it actually.Originally posted by vince69:huh??? I though its we missed the forest for one tree?
anyway, I think you are right, a Prot can always learn from a Catholic, at least I know I don't know all the answers...
The Catholics can do well with some Protestant insights.Originally posted by ben1xy:i have brought some Protestant stuff i picked up at WEFC and adapted it for the youths. they enjoy it actually.
yup. i'm referring to the compilation. and i'm surprised when some talk like they know everything.. but after the first 5 mins... u realised that they are just empty vessals pretending to know. my only problem with some Protestants is they totally ignore the historical aspect of their faith.Originally posted by Icemoon:I hate it when people talk nonsense in an authoritative way.
Hmm .. if you ask me .. the bible they use did not originate from the Catholic Church unless you mean the compilation.
If we read the history of the bible .. we know that the Latin Vulgate was used for over a millennium. The Roman Catholic Church practically got their whole liturgy from there .. just think of Ave Maria. And the Latin Vulgate is quite a lousy translation relatively you know?
