I think there has never been anything about the bible verse or any dispute with itOriginally posted by davidche:mass education and self reflection.
Dont question me. If you have a point, post your point, but read the bible verses before doing that.
i know CE does make valid critism. In fact i have a lot to learn from him. But he seems to be questioning and having comments on whatever i post. Some are valid.........Originally posted by ben1xy:erm, ah lau has actually made a really good point dave.
learn to take criticism better bah.
although i dun agree with everything Unker CE says but he too makes some really valid criticism.

In very short, unker ce is good at presenting.Originally posted by laurence82:in short, i think unker CE always made valid points, he can even bring out evidences that are needed
but unker CE too good liao, cant recognise hypocrisy and subtlety of some of his fellow christians
should we give up our moral values to deal with such trolls, or join in the hullabaloo?

Chin is knowledgable.
Chin makes valuable advice
Sometimes i dunno whether he is insulting me or trying to help me.
Thats my thought.
Yes he is... but he is not telling the whole story is it? I would rather he continue to story of his failed forum and how he pick himself up after that. The ball is in his court.Originally posted by Skibi:I think David has been very brave to post his testimony.
Dave, if you don't know how to use verses, don't!Originally posted by davidche:When words are many, sin is not absent, but he who holds his tongue is wise. Proverbs 10:19
For you unker chin.
I have never claimed to be religious, please get that right.Originally posted by davidche:If you claim to be religious but donÂ’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless.
For if we could control our tongues, we would be perfect and could also control ourselves in every other way.
1 Peter 2:17
Respect everyone, and love your Christian brothers and sisters.
1 John 2:9
If anyone claims, “I am living in the light,” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness.
1 John 4:21
And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian brothers and sisters.
well, let the bible speak.
You decide dave, you decide. Insulting or helping.... your choice. I will continue to do what I think needed to be done.Originally posted by davidche:In very short, unker ce is good at presenting.

I just wish to see a boy's life reflecting the glory of God.Originally posted by M©+square:I feel the need to address this.
David's testimony is a strong witness to non believers and faith of believers.
With that experience he have gone through. I respect that.
I have problems when he goes into doctrinal application and biblical debates and fundamental principles.
It just doesn't tally.
I'm being objective here.
I do not have problem with this boy's testimony. And i believe CE is on my side of the fence as well.
I wish his life will have the voice of the humble, the suffered, the worn and wise Christian.
Cheers
... and by the way, dave.... can you do something better than just ripping off some websites? you think the peeps here don't have internet access to read such stuff?
have you ever been in a situation where a kid behaves badly in public, and you silently wished that someone will go and slap the kid????
.... well I am that someone.
so when in the Bible it is mentioned that Judas hanged himself, is it meant for you? if so, please do it quickly.
What dave can do:Hope you can do the ones which are nessasary for edification
1. Improve on your writing skills - this has to be a conscious effort on your part. The PREVIEW button helps. Alternatively use an on-line dictionary. I am not even talking about SMS short cuts, I am talking about pure spelling error like: nex (for next), belif (for belief) and many more. It is just too painful to read. Not only that, what you write now is what you write in real life. Use this forum to hone your writing skills (I do that all the time - here, in SGforums, Straits Times forum, Today forum - yes! I post there too, of course using my real name). Writing well is the first step to being credible.
2. Stick to topics you can handle - Evolution is probably too big for you. The moment YOU start a post, you are expected to carry-on with it. Also, try not to quote for sources you cannot handle - quoting from sources without personal comments is just going to kill your credibility.
3. Read "7 Habits for Effective Teenagers" by Sean Covey. My sons have either finished it or are reading it. This book will help shape your life in a very practical way. You can buy this book at Kino or borrow it from the National Library.
4. For the time being - do not depend on any one - you have started this, live with it. Action and consequences are something that is heavily emphasized at my home. Sweep up your own dirt, clean up your own room, pick up your own rubbish.
5. Get involved in your church ministry - that's an excellent place to pick up biblical truths and concepts. It will strengthen your arguments here in your forum.
6. Be objective - as much as you dislike some people (me inclusive) you are a host, unless the visitors become genuinely abusive, you will just have to tolerate. Boh pian.... it comes with the turf.
LIKE IT OR NOT, you own this forum. You have to build it up yourself. Others can help, but don't factor that into your business plan, when it happens, it's a bonus.
Have I been hard on you? Yes I have. Will I apologise. No! The world is a harsh place, can't take the heat? Get out of the kitchen! I do not believe in criticising without providing practical points - read my points above, chew on them, and see if I am right.
im sry you have to post so long. But i really dont get it.Originally posted by M©+square:I just wish to see a boy's life reflecting the glory of God.
This world needs to hear the voice of humble, forgiveness, suffering, obedience, love, truth of a Christian.
These voices will bring forth healing and the power of God will be displayed.
David, i roughly could figure out your discussion with unker CE.
God will bring you to where he wants you to. Just like Moses, God is willing to wait for forty years till He allowed Moses to see the burning bush.
The question to you is,
Are you willing to wait that long?
The question to myself is,
If you miss my point in this post. Should i still post?
Cheers
Your pm tells me you didn't get it.Originally posted by davidche:im sry you have to post so long. But i really dont get it.
well, maybe i do.
Could we Pm?
Is it possible if you can rephrase?Originally posted by M©+square:Your pm tells me you didn't get it.
i rest my case.
Au Revoir
My good lord....Originally posted by davidche:Is it possible if you can rephrase?
And am i close to the answer?
well, i dont know about this, but arent we not supposed to say Lord's name in vain?Originally posted by M©+square:My good lord....
No my boy.
Don't make me say bye the third time k?
Bye!!!
I'm not a Christian...Originally posted by davidche:well, i dont know about this, but arent we not supposed to say Lord's name in vain?
dave, it is totally unimportant to me whether you think you are being helped or insulted.Originally posted by davidche:I personally think you are doing both.
Hope you can do the ones which are nessasary for edification
As a fact, i think it.Originally posted by M©+square:I'm not a Christian...
Don't drag me in to the 'we'.
Anyway, 'My good lord' comparing to your 'wtf', you mean it is more forgiving to say wtf???
Pfff
Unker CE nv replies in such a manner. When u do something wrong, he tells u straight. Your answer on the other hand reeks of self-justification and insincerity.Originally posted by davidche:As a fact, i think it.
1. the word isnt used literally
2. It acts as a expression for surprise, same purpose as oh my gosh.
3. The bible didnt clearly state that we arent supposed to say that.
4. Which is different from 'using the Lord's name in vain' case.
Unker Chin, im learning from your way of presenting.
Thanks benOriginally posted by ben1xy:Unker CE nv replies in such a manner. When u do something wrong, he tells u straight. Your answer on the other hand reeks of self-justification and insincerity.
