Gen 14:How can we bless God? God needs our blessing meh?
18 Then Melchizedek king of Salem [d] brought out bread and wine. He was priest of God Most High, 19 and he blessed Abram, saying,
"Blessed be Abram by God Most High,
Creator [e] of heaven and earth.
20 And blessed be [f] God Most High,
who delivered your enemies into your hand."
Then Abram gave him a tenth of everything.
so marfan .. need to go one big round?Originally posted by missqi:From a more innocent viewpoint...
Why can't it be like...
We bless God, so he can pass it on and bless others?
(On assumption he really exists and not counting my Atheist views.:lol
Aiya...Originally posted by Icemoon:so marfan .. need to go one big round?
Or we need to remind god it is time to give blessings .. like christmas is approaching .. so he can dispatch santa?
now now, dont need to get your knickers in a twist.Originally posted by Icemoon:Apologies for this provocative title.
But I just wanna ask, issit theologically correct to bless God?
Apparently this was what a mortal in the bible did. From NIV:
How can we bless God? God needs our blessing meh?
It is a big difference.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:now now, dont need to get your knickers in a twist.
I think 'bless' can be simply substituted with 'praise'.
Really, you worry too much.Originally posted by Icemoon:It is a big difference.
I don't dare to make that substitute.
There are three mentions of "blessed" in the passage.Originally posted by SingaporeMacross:Really, you worry too much.
What's your take on this?Originally posted by alvin-ncs:

He wants praise from his creations.Originally posted by M©+square:We will have to question the reason God have created beings.
What does he want from his creation?
Keep it biblical.
wait .. you are just pointing us to a difference in translation.Originally posted by sillyme:Quoting from Psalms 66:8.
Oh, bless our God, you peoples! And make the voice of His praise to be heard, (NKJV)
Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; (NIV)
Psalsm 66 is an example of how God is blessed. When God blesses us, His primary purpose is for us to experience His glory. So when we bless Him, it is to declare His glory, giving back what is due to Him.

ok lor .. next time in church you shout "Bless God .. halleluyah".Originally posted by sillyme:Yup, I quoted the two verses to show that praising and blessing God is synonymous, i.e. giving God all the glory.
