But it doesn't cover all the bases, from what I read, so people use 'kill' since it covers more base.

If that tablet is still around, it'll be the most expensive, possibly most priceless relic.
It's better off lost and never found. If found, it'll spark off another round of conflicts between 3 religions on whose sacred relic is it.Originally posted by vince69:hmmm...
lets see, these tablets was supposed to have been kept in the Ark of the Covenant which is another priceless relic.
Actually found liao right?Originally posted by kaister:It's better off lost and never found. If found, it'll spark off another round of conflicts between 3 religions on whose sacred relic is it.

What a rubbish example.
The point in the Binding of Isaac is not about God ordering Abraham to kill his innocent son .. instead it is about Faith and the foreshadowing of Jesus Christ.
Abraham knew that the same God who gave him a son through a miracle wouldn't take back his life .. and didn't God promise Abraham his descedants will be as many as the stars?
Abraham, on his part, just need to trust God. It is a covenant remember? God made the promise and how God solve the problem of the sacrifice is God's problem.
For it is written (Heb 11):
17 By faith Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac. He who had received the promises was ready to offer up his only son, 18of whom he had been told, ‘It is through Isaac that descendants shall be named after you.’
and you believe?Originally posted by Icemoon:Actually found liao right?
According to Steven Spielberg .. it is now hidden in some US warehouse ..

it might be true .. 'cos the ark was hidden around the second world war. Now US is a superpower.Originally posted by vince69:and you believe?
Icey, for youOriginally posted by Icemoon:you are the one dreaming, not me.
you got read bible or not? Bible says:
Hebrews 11:17 By faith Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac. He who had received the promises was ready to offer up his only son, 18of whom he had been told, ‘It is through Isaac that descendants shall be named after you.’
The author of Hebrews never talk c-o-c-k .. because in Genesis 21, it is written that
12But God said to Abraham, ‘Do not be distressed because of the boy and because of your slave woman; whatever Sarah says to you, do as she tells you, for it is through Isaac that offspring shall be named after you.
You sort out your thoughts first then reply me can?
Thanks!Originally posted by vince69:Icey, for you
Genesis 22:6-8
6 Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, 7 Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, "Father?"
"Yes, my son?" Abraham replied.
"The fire and wood are here," Isaac said, "but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?"
8 Abraham answered, "God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son." And the two of them went on together.
Huh .. the only argument between us is the Binding of Isaac issue.Originally posted by Skibi:I know my bible, and i can quote you more than enough proofs that killing for God is justifiable. But we can continue through MSN or through shoutbox, cos the argument is just between the two of us.
Why can't you guys start a new thread on this?Originally posted by Skibi:I know my bible, and i can quote you more than enough proofs that killing for God is justifiable. But we can continue through MSN or through shoutbox, cos the argument is just between the two of us.
Edit:Icemoon, it is inappropiate for christians (or anyone for that matter) to label others as "rubbish" or "dreaming". Therefore please have the basic courtesy to continue our discussion over MSN, PM or even shoutbox.

If abraham knew God wouldn't take isaacs life it wouldn't be a valid test anymore. As for descendants as many as the stars God could always give him another son.I have shown you verses that totally demolish whatever you said. Unless you can reconcile the verses with what you said .. I feel there is no need for us to continue via a more private channel.
There are no loopholes in what i have said, the test wouldn't be valid if abraham knew the result beforehand. Do teachers normally give out answer sheets before a test? Would the result be deemed valid if so?Originally posted by Icemoon:I have shown you verses that totally demolish whatever you said. Unless you can reconcile the verses with what you said .. Put it here. It is a learning experience for every of us if your explanation is convincing. Why enlighten me only if you can enlighten a bigger audience?
