Biblical Riddle - Why does a man take a wife?

This is a no-brainer .. of course a man takes a wife! This is how everyone says it right?
How is this then related to the bible you ask? Well, the phrase itself can be found in the bible:Deuteronomy 22
So can anyone tell me why does a man take a wife?
