Boring sermons :(

Todays topic was about tongues of flames, which i at first thought it is meant for me since i was asking regarding whether we shld make fun of ppl.
But the content was really boring, with no real application to everyday life. All he says is to do good lah, how scary and dangerous tongues can be ...to renew oneself.
I mean its really literal enuf from the bible, if thats all for the sermon, why not simply tell us to read so and so passage?
So can anyone tell me how i shld deal with this kinda stuffs? -

You can read Daily Bread.
You can listen to audio sermon by other pastors.

Hebrews 10:25:
25Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. -
The Bible tells us that we need to attend church so we can worship God with other believers and be taught His Word for our spiritual growth (Acts 2:42; Hebrews 10:25). Church is the place where believers can love one another (1 John 4:12), encourage one another (Hebrews 3:13), “spur” one another (Hebrews 10:24), serve one another (Galatians 5:13), instruct one another (Romans 15:14), honor one another (Romans 12:10), and be kind and compassionate to one another (Ephesians 4:32).
When a person trusts Jesus Christ for salvation, he or she is made a member of the Body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:27). For a church body to function properly, all of its "body parts" need to be present (1 Corinthians 12:14-20). Likewise, a believer will never reach full spiritual maturity without the assistance and encouragement of other believers (1 Corinthians 12:21-26). For these reasons, church attendance, participation, and fellowship should be regular aspects of a believer's life. Weekly church attendance is not required for believers, but someone who has trusted Christ should have a desire to worship God, be taught His Word, and fellowship with other believers. -

Just try to understand the message behind the sermon...
But sometimes I get bored & sleepy coz not all speakers can speak into hearts of people... So i just close my eyes, pray and ask God for a message... Then i would open the bible to a page and read the chapters & there's sure something i learn from there... It's interesting... try it... ?
But must remember to pray to God first for what He wants to show you that day... and also wisdom to understand it... Just to share what i do on those mornings... -

Think about it. If u really have God at heart, u would stay awake and listen intensely no matter how boring the preacher is. But if one chooses to have other ideas, then he can't be helped.
