I think he meant that there are always two sides to everything. With good there will be evil. With light, there will be darkness. What you want to make do with the situation is up to you entirely.Originally posted by davidche:you r like saying theres real and fake truth....

Some people claim to know truth is absolute. So, what's your stand on the issue now?Originally posted by davidche:read the quote from my post, then read my post. now read your reply.

I have no answer to this question because I have no idea. I only know this forum served as an information center. I learnt alot from it. I also know it served as an arguement center where many people present their cases in here. This I do not interfere for I am still young.Originally posted by davidche:How many of the atheists that come and go have actually been brought to chrisianity?
Do you think this forum serves any purpose except devleoping hatred and sins?

claim to know truth is absolute?
Truth is absolute, are there other choices since its worth a discussion?

And i also thought that truth is absolute so cannot be argued upon?Truth is absolute, but who knows the absolute truth ? U ? Wat make u think the truth u preceive is absolute truth while others r absolute rubbish ? U think u know the truth while I think mine is right ? So how ? In tis sense the issue of contempt is relative truth, and the best way to come closer to absoulte truth is by debating and hopefully come out with a sound conclusion tat is closer to the absolute truth.
i see.Originally posted by stupidissmart:Truth is absolute, but who knows the absolute truth ? U ? Wat make u think the truth u preceive is absolute truth while others r absolute rubbish ? If u wanna use tat statement, I challenge u to claim u know wat is the absolute truth and back it up. Otherwise your statement is meaningless.
I see.Because unless the guy is blind, arrogant or never made a mistake in his life, he couldn't have a reason to state he know absolute truth. If u felt tat christian shouldn't participate in tis type of dicsussion, u r saying they think they r special and smart and the only one who know absolute truth while the others r stupid and lost and far from truth. Then, they r really arrogant and r the real lost people stuck in their relative truth.
But if the person knows the truth will he/she still argue with ppl so that they might reach a conclusion nearer to the truth?
Does that mean tat christians shldnt participate in this type of discussion cos they say that they know the truth. So if they still argue, they are admitting themselves that they dont know the truth, thus they need a conclusion nearer to the absolute truth.

yes, i know, but i specified in my post the type of discussion for a conclusion near to the truth.Originally posted by stupidissmart:Because unless the guy is blind, arrogant or never made a mistake in his life, he couldn't have a reason to state he know absolute truth. If christian think they r the one with the absolute truth, why not bring it to the test by debating his point of view with others ? Everyone made mistake and err in judgement before. Why do they think they made the right choice in their religion and the rest of the world dumbasses and made the wrong choice ? He can also do good by bringing more people to absolute truth. There is really no reason why a christian shouldn't debate his conviction with others unless he believe he is nowhere near the absolute truth and couldn't handle the truth.
yes, i know, but i specified in my post the type of discussion for a conclusion near to the truth.U say it yourself, they believe their relative truth as the absolute truth. They cannot say for sure that wat they believe is the absolute truth and as such, discussion can test their theories and gain better understanding. Even Einstein and probably the whole world do discuss/debate in order to get better understanding. Even the highest church council also do debate and discuss
The discussion to persuade other ppl is a different thing.
The discussion to teach other ppl is also different.
What im saying is that, christians believe that the relative truth to them is the absolute truth. So they will not need to participate in the kind of discussion that is to generate a conclusion near to the truth.
are you saying that anyone who believes in the truth is being arrogant and-self smart?

If one felt tat wat his belief is true and all the other must be false, then tis guy is blind, arrogant and thought he neve made a mistake in his life.
regarding your last sentance, this guy must be blind if he believes in the truth is wad i can litterally draw out.Tat is the thing. They believe tat their truth is absolute, but wat if it is relative ? R they god ? They never made mistake ? As human, even stated in the bible, r prone to err. In such a complicated issue, no one can surely say they have the absolute truth. Isn't it a good means to test it out ? If it is the truth, it can stand the test. Why so afraid of discussing ?
You are saying that the truth is relative. But what if the relative truth is absolute?
The strong point is your einstien and church thingy, but i need you to include more stuffs(like discuss about wad) b4 i can argue. ThanksThey discuss about policy and science. So wat r u gonna argue about ?
Your first para, they believe that the truth is absolute, therefore, they are not sure wad they believe is absoluteEverybody believe tat their truth is absolute. Who will wanna believe in the wrong thing ? However everybody have to realise the important point tat the truth they believe in is relative. Muslim believe their religion is correct and it is the absolute truth. Christians, buddhists, cultists, Jews etc as followed. But the absolute truth can be only 1 or none of them. Doesn't tat show either most of them, or all of them have relative truth and r really far off from absolute truth. As said again. Unless u r blind, conceited, arrogant or thought u never made a mistake in your life, u cannot say u have the absolute truth absolutely.
