Its just sth he observed. If your nt happy about the observation, change it.Originally posted by skyfoo:christianity. this is by the words of a christian my friend met this morning. he highlighted to my friend that the rich countries are mostly christian states while the otherwise for the poorer countries. one poor country he pointed out not practising christianity is thailand. he said that the numerous beggars there is the result of the belief of buddhism. yes, he's a christian carrying a bible promoting christianity
These people need to step out of the Church for a moment and just travel to see things for themselves. Perhaps read history books instead of only the bible.Originally posted by skyfoo:btw, my point is how narrow-minded this christian is. to him, christianity is everything and he simply indulged in it. everything opposing christianity is undermined and cannot be compared to the superior christianity. and i doubt that this guy is the only one with such idiotic thinking. so i was wondering how did the teachings of christianity led him to think this way and inspired him to openly spread this thinking?
Maybe you shld read the history of the bible.Originally posted by wisefool83:These people need to step out of the Church for a moment and just travel to see things for themselves. Perhaps read history books instead of only the bible.
Ermm.... when I say step out of the Church, I didn't mean to explore other religion, but to physically step out and go travel around other countries.Originally posted by davidche:Maybe you shld read the history of the bible.
kk, erm to answer you, we christians believe that theres only one truth and one God. So common sense wld tell me that other Gods or religions are absolutely wrong to a christian.
Huh? but if you read history hoh, you wld know the ways to see a source's reliability. X-referencing is one of them.Originally posted by wisefool83:Ermm.... when I say step out of the Church, I didn't mean to explore other religion, but to physically step out and go travel around other countries.
By the history of the bible, do you mean the history contained in the bible or history books about the bible? For if its the former, I had read the testaments a fair number of times. With all due respects to any Christians reading this, I wouldn't personally classify them as history. This is not to say they are not good stories, but I wouldn't take them word for word.
