christianity. this is by the words of a christian my friend met this morning. he highlighted to my friend that the rich countries are mostly christian states while the otherwise for the poorer countries. one poor country he pointed out not practising christianity is thailand. he said that the numerous beggars there is the result of the belief of buddhism. yes, he's a christian carrying a bible promoting christianity

Good number of Christian States such as those in Africa and South Pacific Island are in turmoil as welll. Non Christian states such as Dubai and Singapore are doing quite well too.

a few muslim countries are rich..In fact, they are filthy rich....

btw, my point is how narrow-minded this christian is. to him, christianity is everything and he simply indulged in it. everything opposing christianity is undermined and cannot be compared to the superior christianity. and i doubt that this guy is the only one with such idiotic thinking. so i was wondering how did the teachings of christianity led him to think this way and inspired him to openly spread this thinking?

These people need to step out of the Church for a moment and just travel to see things for themselves. By the history of the bible, do you mean the history contained in the bible or history books about the bible? For if its the former, I had read the testaments a fair number of times. With all due respects to any Christians reading this, I wouldn't personally classify them as history. This is not to say they are not good stories, but I wouldn't take them word for word. -

People pointed out USA, but back few weeks ago, Christians in this forums moaned the rising trend of liberal Christianity, which they said its not Christian in the first place, events like the appointment of a female as the head of the Episcopal Church in US, and approval of homosexuality
Brazil and Philippines? Sure Prots would like to put it at down as Catholicism, but doesnt sounds right for countries with heavy or significant Catholic population, ie, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France and Germany...
Again, there is no conclusive stats to prove Christianity account for wealth, but its disturbing that people are equating Christianity to materialism

rich muslim countries are rich because of the oil they have.
but one thing i noticed is people who are financially stable are mostly christians.
