We take charge of the youths before they get confirmed when they reach SecOriginally posted by Icemoon:you forgot we need good cardinals also .. especially cardinals from Singapore.
What is catechists? Is that a fanciful name for bible study leader?
"not afraid to water down teachings in fear of reprisals" sounds very Protestant to me.
Catechists are teachers of church doctrine, usually laymen or religious.Originally posted by Icemoon:you forgot we need good cardinals also .. especially cardinals from Singapore.

in light of your signature. when my Sec 4's got confirmed, we held a party for them. some adults were there too. When the party ended, the place wasn't exactly in a mess.. so the adults left first. i stayed back to pack the stuff up. To my surprise, a few of them started cleaning the place up (i was gonna run away) and picking up little rubbish.Originally posted by M©+square:Not about being or sounding protestant or not.
It is evident that the teachings and confronting issues of holy living have been oppressed and indeed - watered down.
How can a church of God raise to become salt and light if she is fearful and weak?
The main function of a Church is solely onto the reliance of God.
And if a professing believer of God can leave unchanged...then...this religion is questionable.
my parish are trying to get the youths to come in as faciliators and stuff. pretty effective i would sayOriginally posted by SingaporeMacross:Catechists are teachers of church doctrine, usually laymen or religious.
That sounds so nice, I feel like putting it in my signature...Originally posted by ben1xy:they answered... coz it's the right thing to do.
if i understand correctlly there is catechism class and confirmation class.Originally posted by ben1xy:We take charge of the youths before they get confirmed when they reach Sec
We have classes every sunday, not only focusing on the Bible but other teachings of the church like Sacrament
we go into concepts like Morality, etc
That's how they recruit youth catechists. Bring them in as facilitators and they'll be taking classes in no time. Good idea.Originally posted by ben1xy:my parish are trying to get the youths to come in as faciliators and stuff. pretty effective i would say

I've seen too too many youths doing the 'right things' in church and during Christian functions.

There is a difference between moral knowledge - conduct and godly knowledge - conduct.
I hope your sec 4s will inherit the latter.
