Biblically?
There is only one requirement when administrating the Holy Communion (that I know off), that which is... "do this in remembrance of me" (Luke 22:19; read from verse 7 - 20 and also 1Cor 11:17-34)
but some may argue that it have to have the present of Christ (ie. church setting) then can administer the Holy Communion (ie. The Lord's supper).
Matthew 18:20
"For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them."
a statement made my our Lord Jesus, and my simple faith says, He meant what He said...
hello unker vince
then can u explain these verses to me
"‘I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is my flesh.’ The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, ‘How can this man give us his flesh to eat?’" (John 6:51–52).
"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you; he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is food indeed, and my blood is drink indeed. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood abides in me, and I in him" (John 6:53–56).
"The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not a participation in the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not a participation in the body of Christ?" (1 Cor. 10:16)
22As they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread and asked God's blessing on it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, "Take it, for this is my body."
23And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them, and they all drank from it. 24And he said to them, "This is my blood, poured out for many, sealing the covenant[d] between God and his people. 25I solemnly declare that I will not drink wine again until that day when I drink it new in the Kingdom of God." 26Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.
- Mark 14: 22-26
As they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread and asked God's blessing on it. Then he broke it in pieces and gave it to the disciples, saying, "Take it and eat it, for this is my body." 27And he took a cup of wine and gave thanks to God for it. He gave it to them and said, "Each of you drink from it, 28for this is my blood, which seals the covenant[c] between God and his people. It is poured out to forgive the sins of many. 29Mark my words--I will not drink wine again until the day I drink it new with you in my Father's Kingdom." 30Then they sang a hymn and went out to the Mount of Olives.
Matthew 26: 26-30
Can i ask, why do people choose to only look at Luke and not the rest? just looking at MArk and MAtthew would have validated that Christ is truely present and not just symbolic
