Anyway, any denomination that doesnt preech out of the bible or anything against it, it shld be correct.
I dont like charismatics cos they sing and dance for like one hr then at last when it comes to preeching the sermen, no one is physically ready for it.(tired)
Ive went for a small charismatic prayer session. You know i had to stand for the whole prasing part!!!!! and thats like one hr.
So you hv to stand for one hr, and sing out loud at the same time!!!!!

woot! gas! long post today eh!!Originally posted by gasband:I consider myself an in-between because I believe in taking the goods from each and discarding the bad.
The problem with most charismatic christians nowadays is that they based their faith in God too much of the "seeing" factor. It is always about signs, wonders, healings, miracles, people jumping or people getting slained or delivered. They feel that if God is present, ALL THESE must be present. So my question to them is always, if all these are not present at a meeting, God is not present? I explain to them that healing is not always in the physical but in many ways can be emotional or spiritual. So, if you do SEE it, does not mean God is not present. I find charismatics a post-modernistic bunch. They must see to believe. While it is not wrong, it is not always right. I belong to a rather pro-charismatic church right now where they start to practice prophetic worship, healings, word faith etc.... but i am very clear about it to my leaders, I practice what I am convicted about, not just what the church officially stands for.
The problem with most traditionals then is that they sometimes cannot accept that there is a need to be relevant, for changes and for things to be taken in current context. Before I came to my current church, I have actually in a Brethen church which was super conservative. They speak out against the charismatic movement and would go as far as saying they are not christians. Too me, that is a generalisation. Again, the generalisation is not wrong but it it is not always right. I believe I am called to use my passion and talent for rock music to reach out to an unique group of people, people on the edge. People who may not walk into a church playing hymns or hillsongs. These are punks, skins or just rebellious teens u see around you. We believe that our on stage ministry which is the music can DRAW them to us and our off stage ministry which is our friendship can DRAW them to GOD. However, again my traditional church frens or pastors will waved my passion off as trends, as not in "the scheme of God". They feel that God does not appreciate rock music and will never use it to reach people. I disagree of cos but well again I work according to my convictions. I never try too hard to convince people of what I do.
Very well written. Yes, charismatics emphasize on the 'seeing', same as other religions including idol worshipping.Originally posted by gasband:I consider myself an in-between because I believe in taking the goods from each and discarding the bad.

but one can argue .. seeing was all rampant in the early church. According to the bible.Originally posted by davidche:Very well written. Yes, charismatics emphasize on the 'seeing', same as other religions including idol worshipping.
seeing is very important in men. It is also one of the reasons for atheism.Originally posted by Icemoon:but one can argue .. seeing was all rampant in the early church. According to the bible.
I find your statements very assuming in nature.Originally posted by davidche:seeing is very important in men. It is also one of the reasons for atheism.
Remember in the bible when Moses was up that hill and the israelits were below and they made a idol to worship? Yes, seeing is definitely a very assuring substance for ANY religions.
Our religion is not built on that cos of the mere fact that God cant be seen.
In other words were believing sth that cant be seen, arent we?
I find charismatics fulfilling this need for 'seeing' or at least partly doing that.
