Scandals in Singapore churches

I guess it has something to do with our Singaporean mentality of being indifferent as well. Here's an example: If an ordinary citizen like you go Gelyang to spend a night with the china girl, it's no big deal or no one will ever bother. However, if our PM been caught sleeping with a prostitute, it will be a national scandal for sure. The difference is their social status and their responsibility to the number of ppl.
Pastors who commits crimes just misplace the trust their followers place in them and this is no matter that we can just close 1 eye. Remember, they are ppl we look up to, ppl who we supposed them to be morally upright.
Singaporeans are not proactive enough in speaking out where ethics is concerned. But Singaporeans excel in personal complaints like faulty purchases or service not going their way.
On the other hand, our not talking about it does not necessarily we condone it. We probably might not be in a position to speak out against it. Like we might be in different church, so that offending party you mention is answerable to a different congregation.
If knowing what their elder/senior stands for isn't what's right, yet they still support him, then it says a lot about where they're motivations and reasons lie in going to church. -
Its called being apathetic
In a way, its sad that its part of the societal norms in Singapore.
For another outburst like those against NKF, is prolly a phenomenon that will hapen once in some donkey years. -
Ya, apathy is the new social disease. Ppl are more concerned to their daily bread, and can't be bothered to notice anything happening in our society. Just like in the Lord's prayer, they say" Give us this day our daily bread..." We become obsessed with getting our daily bread. Sigh!

Defamation arose because one church openly disagreed with views from the senior pastor over the King James Bible. The senior pastor went on to defame the church member. BP like no brain one .. cannot exorcise demons properly .. cannot heal properly .. cannot prophesize .. cannot interpret bible .. cannot understand science .. and they die die must use KJV.

I must add .. this is worse than any sermon on milo peng and dinosaur for communion.
I'm quite sure they would have tied Mr Lim to the stake for heresy if the law allows. -

we from the outside of the church, no head no tail, difficult to deduce anything, can only say is, both side need to cool down and then sit down and talk over it.
