  it's not only the internet, back then it was the radio and tv ! it still is today..

  no it's not alright for u to get one as a Christian.. yes the root is created by God, but it was man that made the voodoo doll for other uses..

  the doll in itself, by itself is neutral (much like that of a teddy bear).
  
  Its what you sees in it, your attitude towards it, and the trust/expectation that you placed in it and how you uses it that makes it not alright.

  Some items have historical spiritual bkground. So even though, it may seem harmless. It does have certain powers to stumble or harm if a believe isn't careful.

  the question is: what do you intend to do with the doll (voodoo or otherwise)...
  
  if the purpose of the doll is for you to poke pins into it so that someone else suffers, it goes against scriptural teaching on sorcery.
  
  if you are a doll collector and the voodoo doll is only one of the many that you want to collect, I really don't think that is any issue with it.
  
  It's like saying: can I keep a Guan Gong statue in my house? If the purpose is to worship as a deity than it is wrong, but if it is part of my collection of historical artifact, than I think I am perfectly ok.....
  
  .... but there are some who believe that we should not have items of pagan religions in my house.... I beg to differ because my God is greater than all of these and as long as they are not kept for the purpose of worship, I have no problem with it.

  But I was thinking, does lord want to help us from the things around us?
  
  For example, God will never show Himself and help anyone before (Except Jesus was on Earth that case lar).
  You get trapped in the ship, you pray hard with faith, God will make some coast guard suddenly appear to save you.
  
  So in this case, is it God wanted to give me wealth or anything other things from a doll?

  I agree.... especially for those who are weak in faith.....
  
  I won't say I am super strong in faith, but I am not one who is easily affected by such supernatural/spiritual powers.
