yes, it will have the same convicting effect [b]IF the Holy Spirit accompanies the message in the hearts of the listeners.

it maybe God has used that sermon to certain individuals throughout the world.
maybe not to you but we don't know about the others.
i used maybe because we don't now the works of God right this moment.Originally posted by M©+square:Now IF have another friend - MAYBE.
Yes...and please stop editing....hahahaha
I think your analogy is better than your statement just nowOriginally posted by vince69:we by ourselves cannot make ourself perfect.
that's why we need Christ who is perfect to come and make us perfect.
Story:
a ticket booth was set up to sell ticket into Heaven, the ticket is free, but only perfect person can get the ticket from the booth.
the problem is, no one is perfect, and so no one can get the ticket.
along came Christ who is perfect, He walks up to the booth, show and proof His perfection, get the tickets. Now, Christ have the tickets, He then announce, whoever want a ticket can go to Him for one.
some people quickly form a line and get the ticket from him. others are sceptical and do not believe Him, yet others are proud and insist that they too can achieve perfection on their own.
/Story Ends
I know that this is not really a good anology, but for our discussion, this should do, the thing is this, though Christ had paid the price to make us perfect and righteous to qualify entry into Heaven, there will always be people who cannot/refuse to believe its simplicity, or His goodness, of course there will be people who rather believe in their own efforts to get into heaven.

U, me = imperfect. Whatever we do cannot let us enter heaven. So we are doomed.
Christ = perfect man/God. Died for us on the cross for all our sins. We made righteous becoz Christ is righteous. So we can enter heaven.

If accepting christ means you are made righteous and perfect, so any christian walking down the street now is righteous and perfect?
Wow, so only perfect people believe in christ?Originally posted by vince69:here is the hard part,
while most people would like to believe that human are born innocent, we christians believe that all human are born with the sin of Adam.
while most people would like to believe that good people go to heaven, we christians believe that only the perfect people goes to heaven.
where did u get the idea?Originally posted by shade343:Wow, so only perfect people believe in christ?
piangz... Christian not perfect people.... Christian acknowledge we are sinners ... that's why we need Christ to make us perfect and acceptable before God.Originally posted by shade343:Wow, so only perfect people believe in christ?
wah leow .. to think Shady read a lot of bible.Originally posted by vince69:piangz... Christian not perfect people.... Christian acknowledge we are sinners ... that's why we need Christ to make us perfect and acceptable before God.
If people can achieve perfection on their own, then they don't need Christ liao.
