I heard a simlar one before, it goes like this:Originally posted by gasband:yeah that is very true....very very true...
in fact, the more you want to become a better christian, the more you want to read the bible, the more you worship, the more you want to reach out, the more Satan wants to disturb you becos you pose a big threat to him. We always joke in church saying that if your christian life has been peaceful thus far, repent becos Satan cannot be bothered about you at all.
that's true. I think the evangelism booklet has one. Even NCC says it everytime they conduct the altar call. The strange thing is all the believers will say it too, I wonder why.Originally posted by gasband:The sinner's prayer is just a general term. There is no standard or correct prayer. It is basically a prayer for a non christian to accept the salavtion and acknowledged Christ as his/her saviour and Lord.
yeap, i was thinking more of along this lineOriginally posted by vince69:more like,
there are christians and there are non-christians (I am not sure how you want to classify, those who profess they are christians not actually are not, but then how to tell them apart?)
hmmOriginally posted by Icemoon:I think the temptation is still there. It is easy to fall to the dark side.
The important thing is whether you realize you have fallen, repent with a contrite heart and make restitution.
then, the answer won't matter anymore.Originally posted by gasband:They are many so called ways to differentiate but i guess there is no foolproof way and I guess the only way we will know is when we see God in heaven.
outings?? I thought you went to watch omen with him only ..Originally posted by laurence82:hmm
that was what exactly i told laoda during our outings!!!
Seriously I think WORKS is very important in a christian life. James 1:22 tells us not to be just hearers of the word but be DOERS! And Christians who do not see the need to do good works should reflect on their christian life becos a christian who is truly filled with the Holy SPirit will naturally WANT to do good works!Originally posted by laurence82:yeap, i was thinking more of along this line
i am more concerned about how one can abuse the position of being a 'professed' Christian especially when it comes to evangelising or like what icemoon is harping about, misusing the gospel for self interest
in anyway, I am more for Catholics' emphasis on work
i find the notion of faith vs work a silly one
you cant measure faith really, as gasband said, its a personal thing with god, so what other things you can do? i think its something the RCs have worked out
sorryOriginally posted by Icemoon:outings?? I thought you went to watch omen with him only ..
yeah and thats why i rarely participate in certain discussions esp online becos there is no way to 100% say your point is right...only in heaven then u will know...and like you say, it doesnt matter any more...Originally posted by vince69:then, the answer won't matter anymore.

yes, I agree that good works are important in a christian's walk, but it neither adds to (or the lacks of it substract from) the salvation we received by the grace of God through Christ Jesus our Lord.Originally posted by gasband:Seriously I think WORKS is very important in a christian life. The long standing issue between Protestants and RC is not whether WORKS are important but whether it is necessary for Salvation. That of cos is a totally different issue.
Again, I cannot emphasize more, WORKS are very important in a christian's walk with God.
